I always thought that last verse was the real kill shot of this whole beef. Complete surgical character assassination
Kendrick was one record away from going full antisemitic
Tread carefully hoe, you gone have to back Every claim up
And you know, drake is showing he was predatory with his collabs because he keeps expecting these niggas to pay him back or do sumn for him and never fails to not mention that he helped them. If it's a collab why do that. Why hold onto the fact that you brought Rocky and dot to your tour? It was 2012! Pop was dominant, like why is that something to latch onto? He's disingenuous with it, peep 8 am and fps , a true collab doesn't need rehashing like that
And is this kendrick?? Or his affiliate or a disgruntled former hotel worker

idk dawg, if Katy Perry did a song with Young Thug, then started saying slatt and slime in her music with a southern drawl, im definitely hitting a
I think this is the problem.
It would be one thing if Drake was just collaborating & genuinely appreciating / putting a spotlight on some of these different sounds and scenes in the music world, but that’s not all he’s doing.
The problem is that he that he cosplays as every subculture he’s collaborating with while collaborating with them.
Working with UK drill artists is one thing, using a fake British accent and speaking with UK slang terms only in records with them is another. I don’t think we’ve ever seen another rapper do something like that.
It’s like if Kanye was rapping with Southern drawl on Barry Bonds, it’s weird
Drake and Kenny stans writing paragraphs of discourse on rap beefs as opposed to applying it to job applications or studies is genuinely mind-boggling
People are not allowed to be passionate about art anymore?
Like if you look at the difference in an artist like Kanye, who has taken inspiration from numerous sounds and styles and cultures over the years, he’s never once been called anything like a culture vulture. Because he becomes inspired by other scenes and then inserts himself into it, rather then pretending to be a part of the scene itself
yeah i was just gonna say this lol
drake is way more egregious with what he does, if JAY collabed with Cudi and then started trying to hum and ape his sound then he would’ve gotten called out for it
i think people let drake slide with some plausible deniability due to him being somewhat racially vague honestly
if someone like Carti for example started rapping like a Griselda nigga, people would get on his ass for it lol
Carti on a Griselda beat is f***ing disgusting in a good but also bad way
People are not allowed to be passionate about art anymore?
No nigga
And you posting on KTT
And you got a KTT account?
Jay Z still remained Jay Z throughout all that. He wasn’t forcing whole accents.
Bingo
Atleast Beyonce doing full fledged albums, she got to do a rap album tho, or stop rapping
I think this is an somewhat overlooked part of the diss that hasn’t been discussed about at length yet, and I just wanted some general input/feedback on this site about what’s the overall thought about it.
”Once upon a time, all of us was in chains
Homie still doubled down callin' us some slaves
Atlanta was the Mecca, buildin' railroads and trains
Bear with me for a second, let me put y'all on game
The settlers was usin' townfolk to make 'em richer
Fast-forward, 2024, you got the same agenda
You run to Atlanta when you need a check balance
Let me break it down for you, this the real nigga challenge”
”You called Future when you didn't see the club (Ayy, what?)
Lil Baby helped you get your lingo up (What?)
21 gave you false street cred
Thug made you feel like you a slime in your head (Ayy, what?)
Quavo said you can be from Northside (What?)
2 Chainz say you good, but he lied
You run to Atlanta when you need a few dollars
No, you not a colleague, you a f***in' colonizer
The family matter and the truth of the matter
It was God's plan to show y'all the liar”
Obviously, the general idea of what Kendrick is getting at is that Drake is sort of parasitic on the artists/musicians that he chooses to collaborate with, particularly Atlanta artists. However when we get past this surface level take, I ask, what is the line between being parasitic and harmful to an artists’ growth and development, versus contributing to it and giving them a boost?
I have seen people say that the collabs that Drake chooses to do with lesser known artists are really beneficial for them because it gets more eyes for them, and that it isn’t his job to make sure that they don’t flame out after they gain his feature.
Drake has also been called out for hopping on other sounds and waves even dating back as far back with More Life, and it doesn’t really seem like it was a clear cut consensus for when it came to him adopting accents and slangs from other cultures and music just in general
For a TL;DR: Do you think Drake collaborating with upcoming artists is more for his benefit than theirs? Do you think Drake hopping on somewhat different sounds and waves of a foreign nature for his projects and albums a good thing because maybe it brings it to a larger audience? Or is it appropriation and it waters down the overall sound?
That’s kinda all I got. I know the beef is still somewhat fresh and might not even be necessarily over, but I ask you to please keep it somewhat objective and non-bias as much as possible.
More Life I think Drake was sincerely curious and interested in the sounds he was dabbling in. He was already into dancehall and had successfully pulled that off, and I think his ventures into grime on ML were dope.
ML was the last time he was creatively hungry tho. After Adidon, he doubled down on the “fuck everything, I’ll just rule the charts” thing. So the people he picks up like thug, 21, 4batz, etc, are more just business moves than creative outreaches.
If you think Drake is a colonizer, vulture, or whatever it’s highly likely you are a casual or low iQ

I wanted a ML sequel so bad
drake wanted to be the ultimate tastemaker, i think that was his intention but it def gets to a point where it’s like damn nigga leave something organic
Carti on a Griselda beat is f***ing disgusting in a good but also bad way
lowkey wonder what that would sound like
