both sides are weirdly true at once like yea its frustrating to not have exciting new AAA projects to listen to, but there's also never been as much quality music coming out at once as now

but it's a little empty when you wanna get excited and talk about an album cut the way you would with something on like, Graduation or Take Care and it's harder to do that with some dope track on a Saba or Smino album knowing the people you're with prob haven't heard it lol

Just in the last month we got Bayonetta 3, Tactics Ogre Reborn, Ragnarok, Pentiment, and that Marvel tactics game that is apparently pretty good (haven't played it myself). That's a lot of good games

Those are just major games too, not even counting the dope indies

Just goes to show current hot artists will always be the ones most featured. Has nothing to do with the state of hip hop it’s just how it always is.

Disagree, I think before Take Care Drake, Rocky, Kendrick Lamar, and a few others in that pre-Atlanta takeover cohort reinvigorated the genre when it was starting to just be like 2chainz and Rick Ross.
Idk if I’d say ktt or any of those dedicated hip hop forums discovered anyone, but in the early 2010s I remember them being a lot more interested in artists like Yung Lean, Danny Brown, Joey Bada$$, early chance, mixtape Rocky, than anything Wayne or big sean were making. There was still a noticeable divide between the forum taste and the mainstream taste. That feels a bit blurred since then.

I think u guys are kinda missing the point. It's more than just good new artists to listen to it's good new artists to listen to that occupy the mainstream

Access to an endless range of genres, sounds, & artists has never been easier but yet people stick to the Top 50 Now spotify playlist & then b**** when they only hear music specifically made to be accessible and formulaic
