Drake is one of the biggest culture vultures in Rap and niggas need to stop going up for him. It's embarrassing.

Fr, dude code switches whatever aspect of black culture he wants to bite and sells it to white people and they eat that shut up

I'm not sure why Black Americans are so inviting of everyone and their f***ing mother jacking s*** and we just like okay... We all black.

We ARE all Black BUT we are not a monolith. Like... We all have different ethnicities and that can & should be respected.

It's that lingering thing that Black American culture is not a "real", tangible thing so it doesn't matter/doesn't deserve any respect.

And his white fans will say he invented it or made it popular.

I was arguing with someone in music section a few weeks back about drake and afrobeats. Dude was saying how no one knew what dancehall and Afro beats was before drake

In Africa and the Caribbean that is mainly what is listened to

I've known about Afrobeat for a while and I'm based in the States. See that kinda stuff is disrespectful.

Like these ethnic groups should be grateful he's biting them.

It’s like every movie dealing with issues or showing the reality of racial tension nowadays (if there’s any besides Jordan peele) has to have some type of element in it (horror or comedy the main 2) they watch those films as more of a thriller/mystery type of thing rather than a reality/social commentary type. I can’t speak on his thoughts but it’s like Peele has treaded this line very closely of not starting a discussion but telling people this is happening let’s talk about it. Even boyz in the hood and menace to society have become lost mtv reruns

Jordan Peele is an agent. I'm don't use that term lightly but I believe people like Jordan Peele & Lena Waithe fit the bill.

They're very performative, inauthentic & surface level.

Exactly. Cast a few black people and have everyone focus on how “inclusive” you are

These folks that try to frame themselves as Black radicals aren't really doing anything.

Bunch of blue checks. Not shaking the table because that's their job. I mean it even goes beyond them, look at the movies they keep putting out (Harriet, Queen & Slim). We're in a cultural regression imo

It doesn't make sense to say you're tired of talking about race but every single role you've had in Hollywood is racially fueled.

Get Out + Queen & Slim the most explicit, but even Widows was. Playing Fred Hampton is the definition of racially fueled too.

    He's weird.

The money really be changing people. When certain black people get rich they feel like they above the regular black man in America. Those same issues you once spoke on is irrelevant now because of the company you keep.
