deceasedreally wanna clarify; I personally do not believe this just this is the general consensus amongst any cis straight person I’ve talked to
Had to have a really unfortunate conversation with a colleague not too long ago who said they weren’t comfortable watching a show they liked because it featured two men in a homosexual relationship and she said “it’s not for me”. When I challenged her and told her it’s no different than seeing cisgendered couples engaging in a romantic relationship she couldn’t really combat the argument and ultimately the root of that is just homophobia. If you can see a man and a woman kissing on television but can’t handle a man and a man kissing, the root of that is simply put, homophobia.
ngl some men probably WANT to start a show if two women are kissing in the advertising of the show.
and it’s just not the case for men.
Men’s sexuality is basically boxed in by society.

You also have to keep in mind that women are targeted more simply because they’re women. Fetishization and misogyny exist in the queer community and in straight communities. Being a trans bisexual woman puts you at higher risk, being a bisexual woman puts you at risk, either backlash or straight up violence. Men face it as well and it’s something to really acknowledge. Other people view WLW as a challenge or something to be obtained.

anyways, this has always been the case. male homosexuality has always been seen as much more vulgar. I'm sure the majority of women would be uncomfortable knowing their male partner was sleeping with other men.
I'm just interested in how it got to this point. What is it about male homosexuality that makes it so unappealing to people?
