it's only 3 skits, and it fits well with the title of the album. 3 legends speaking about their experience with detroit, it's cool. I only pointed those out because i'm conflicted between enjoying the skits, but complaining about the album length.
Stories lowkey the best part of the album
yall do know thats actually QM flow on Money In the Grave and Harder than My Enemies right
its just sped up
Stories lowkey the best part of the album
That Badu skit with her voice combined with the background music felt like a fever dream.
i definitely agree he needs to pick a style tho. if he wanted to go the full self reflection route he shouldve stuck with it instead of adding s*** like ztfo, the baddest, and friday night cypher. i think it couldve been a 9/10 if he had more songs like full circle, deep reverence.
Yeah that’s my main criticism. The fact a couple songs sound a lot like other people just adds to that point tho in my eyes of him not really knowing who he wants to be
This anything like Detroit 1 sonically?
This s*** might actually be unintentionally genius, this could be the most accurate audio depiction of an identity crisis I’ve ever heard

yeah I love all 3 of them. I'd listen to stevie talk for hours.
i feel like sean tried to do his whole self reflection/betterment deal on the metro tape but didnt fully commit. savage time, in tune, and no hearts no love remind me of this tape.

Theyre good stories but I understand why people wouldn't wanna hear it every time they go through the album
This is like Detroit 2 actually
Ya don’t say

her voice is something special man
And Dave is such a great storyteller he should be on more albums
maybe im the only one who thinks this but sean is best when he does trap s*** and going off like lithuania, respect it and the intro.
I can’t be the only one that realizes the production alone on this album makes it one of the best projects of the year.

i can agree with that but tbh its probably the label wanting a few songs like that plus knowing a travis feature or 2 will get some airplay. i still think the majority of the tape is great and gives me hope for his next tape.

Good take lol that’s one of the crazy things about the album

Go make what you want to hear then big dawn. Tell your story how you want and make it jam.
lot of respect to Sean for putting that cypher on there. Not often you see that type of song anymore, and he put that on the album in the streaming era of 2 minute songs.
