It feels like Sean is conflicted between trying to make rap caviar hits and expressing his “good vibes” vegan philosophies. Like Cole, he’s stuck between Drake and Kendrick and obviously listens to both too much. I was expecting the whole album to have the tone and sincerity of Deep Reverance, Everything That’s Missing, and Guard Your Heart. Harder Than My Demons is a dope single without going too far from the vibe but the rest feels like a lot of compromises and reaches so far. I’m on the Thug song
Y'all arm chair reviewers really say this stupid s*** and think you saying something
not really skits. just messages from chappelle, badu, and stevie talking about detroit.
aight imma listen 4real
Or do he just hide behind his skits like half of these rappers do
And then ya'll f***ing go and praise him and his b**** like they savior of this s***
General consensus? Gonna listen tomorrow
i was dissapointed with all of his albums, even dsp , but this the one imo, haven't finished yet tho. Even the rappity rap songs are enjoyable somehow
CLASSIC
Two people say classic?
Hmm I’m hopeful. Ngl I was a big fan of I Decided. So if it’s comfortably better than that I’ll probs love it
General consensus? Gonna listen tomorrow
better than his last off first listen

Fam you think you superior cause you like this s***? What are you saying, it’s a music forum I’m giving my opinion. This is a first impression.
Everybody was saying that, Sean birthed Drake’s original rap style but when Drake became bigger the influence started going the other way
kanye wayne and drake very obviously used seans flow on forever, wayne went on to use it hundreds of times. however my point is that its not like they were trying to steal his sound or imitate sean. so just because a few bars sound like drake it does not mean its seans attempt at a drake song.

Someone earlier itt said something about this being a very refreshing album in the current climate. Too lazy to go find it to quote, but that's pretty spot on imo.

He also spent all of I Decided tryna be Drake so it don’t matter if you choose to justify this one
General consensus? Gonna listen tomorrow
Its got some good tracks, overrall its ehh for me

Yeah it's definitely different than I Decided. It's a lot more eccentric and fun. More of a blockbuster feel to this one.

it's only 3 skits, and it fits well with the title of the album. 3 legends speaking about their experience with detroit, it's cool. I only pointed those out because i'm conflicted between enjoying the skits, but complaining about the album length.
One of the most confusing albums of all time
i definitely agree he needs to pick a style tho. if he wanted to go the full self reflection route he shouldve stuck with it instead of adding s*** like ztfo, the baddest, and friday night cypher. i think it couldve been a 9/10 if he had more songs like full circle, deep reverence.
