doesn’t this mean the shutdown will start once he gets inaugurated though? I’m not sure if trump will really oblige by that rn
Hell no, that piece of s*** is just gonna ignore it until it's not his problem anymore... With 60 days left. Lots of s*** can happen in 60 days.
This whole government has been pushing that s*** back over and over, desperately hoping that it would solve itself and a stimulus wouldn't be needed. They may have finally reached their objective...
As long as people and business are properly compensated for it, otherwise it will just sunk us deeper into economical recession.
small business owner here.
Ruth's Chris got money, not us. Tried for weeks. Not doing another shutdown.
If we follow in New Zealand’s footsteps we could POSSIBLY have our normal lives back in the third quarter of 2021.
Trump not gonna lockdown now not after he lost
yeah i know that i was just saying in terms of exactly when this doctor was saying to do the lockdown. he meant we should do it now not as a plan to do it in January.
now would be the prime time to do it cus we keep peaking every day. and its on par with Europe's current lockdowns
def should do it in January if its necessary for the sake of our health systems just dont know how willing Joe would be for his important first days to be plagued by a lockdown and further recession
“We could really watch ourselves cruising into the vaccine availability in the first and second quarter of next year while bringing back the economy long before that,” he said Wednesday.
Yeah he means lockdown now not in 2 months. The situation then still might warrant one but this thread title is a little misleading. Its a doctor who happened to be on the new team saying it not the entire team or even a plan for January.
The article says nothing about inauguration or January. He's saying we need the lockdown now
trump really just cares about the damn votes though
christ
No word on how COVID cases are literally the worse they've ever been and we're literally riding through a worse wave than we were when we were LOCKED DOWN.
But of course, he wasn't taking it seriously from the jump so he won't start now that he knows he lost.
And if by some satanic miracle, the GOP gets it overturned, he'll double down on doing nothing about it because he would no longer have anything to lose.
Not sure what individualism has to do with sane behaviour. I guess you have an agenda.
An agenda? You're sound like a doofus jumping to that conclusion.
I'm in favor of a well-executed lockdown even if it's an inconvenience on my life. Many people, on the other hand, do not see it that way, do not care that their actions affect can negatively other people, and will flat-out not comply. That's what individualism has to do with this, idiot.
good our economy is suffering cause we never did a proper shut down but they better give everyone checks
It was like a 2-3 week lockdown, which was half assed. Then you had 'essential' businesses coming up with ways to stay open.
Like the f***ing vape shop next to my job starting to sell snacks and 'groceries' because it's 'essential'

100% a weird individualist thing. People care way too much about freedom rights in America.
My dad won't go to the doctor even though he's sick because they'll make him wear a mask.
Think about that one.

Mind asking what kind of business do you have?
And yeah, I remember hearing about that. Stuff like this need to be under control. How do they expect small businesses to shut down and survive when they not being approved for the money.

I saw this meme about how wearing masks is like an IQ test.
You can easily spot dipshits by simply seeing how they wear their mask, if at all.
And it's funny cuz I always had that thought since the beginning.
I actually feel like a dipshit when I walk around without my mask in somewhere where I should be wearing it.

I own a small niche coding company, so think labels for Coca Cola, Pepsi, pharma. Mostly doing the expiration labels, we produce the inks/solvents, everything.
We simply will not obey because f*** that, we’re going to act under our liberties to survive.
Mask mandate, sure. Shut down bars, sure. Stay at home orders? nope.
/rant. Sorry lmao

People have acted like wearing a mask is like shoving a d**** up your ass. It’s pathetic
Been seeing so many terrible takes regarding this on twitter. Even from people who had COVID. The deaths for some reason aren’t that high enough for some for some apparent reason.
People can’t seem to wrap their heads around the fact that things won’t ever get back too normal if we as a unit don’t put the effort into something like this.

I agree I think it's stupid. I think we should be able to appreciate all our freedoms & still make the conscious decision to limit them temporarily for the greater good.
I think it's stupid to even bring up freedoms in response to masks & restrictions because we should all be aware enough to understand that our freedoms aren't really being violated if we make the conscious decision to impose restrictions on ourselves.
But even then it's not that simple because people will always make the argument that the government "can't be trusted to give us back our freedoms" when it's all said and done. I personally have more faith in our government than that, but a lot of people don't.
And that's why individualism (regardless of what you think about individualism) plays a significant role in this.
And that's also why dude that I was responding to's comment was dumb as f**k.

No need to throw insults my way. Individualism isn’t the same thing as egoism, hence why it sounded like you had an anti-individualistic agenda. Maybe I was wrong?
Hey, we’re in favor of the same thing.
