Damn I gotta make a list
Aww that's really sweet. It must have been so dope to been around in that period.
yeah must have been interesting but as my parents say they didn''t realize the period was special until many years after when they were much older
I really like how that song transitions into Sanskrit/Hindu halfway through especially since it's an apparantly Christian song . George Harrison spent the last half of his life practicing adveita partially in Massachusetts before he passed from cancer. my parents have practiced and taught adveita vedenta in MA the for 20-30 years so that song means a lot to me in a weird way. my mom prob doesn't have much time left but I sent her a 100 song playlist with that song in it. she cried 4 songs in...typical mom

also they were like 16, 17 not in their 20s. how do you even appreciate things at that young of an age,

krishna krishna
I never got the impression that it was a Christian song tbh. Feels like any spirituality applies.
you mom sick? :ohno:
What does Drogon think of this? My favorite song I discovered for 1970 so far

Mukunda: What is it about the mantra that brings about this feeling of peace and happiness?
George: The word Hare is the word that calls upon the energy that’s around the Lord. If you say the mantra enough, you build up an identification with God. God’s all happiness, all bliss, and by chanting His names we connect with Him. So it’s really a process of actually having a realization of God, which all becomes clear with the expanded state of consciousness that develops when you chant. Like I said in the introduction I wrote for Prabhupada’s Krsna book some years ago, “If there’s a God, I want to see Him. It’s pointless to believe in something without proof, and Krishna consciousness and meditation are methods where you can actually obtain God perception.”
maybe I was being dramatic last night but remember the kidney dono thing lol? She also has Parkinson's, but I called her this morning and her egfr level are getting way better now that she went vegan! So she's doing way better now than she was a year ago.
read somewhere that George changed the lyrics of the song so people didn't think he was gay
Although, George really was singing about Krishna this time. He just didn’t want to sing, “Something in the way he moves me” because he didn’t want fans to think he was gay.
Then, he explained, “Actually, it’s about Krishna. But I couldn’t say he, could I? I had to say she or they’d think I’m a poof.”

Yeah, that's a pretty famous quote of his
I have doubts but am curious
I'm kinda agnostic so just apply my own vague ideas about the mysteries of the universe to the gospel or any religious music I'm listening to
Glad your mom's doing better, they're supposed to last for a long time
