i still think this swedish band had some of the heaviest stuff recorded up to this point and structurally seems like proto-post-rock lmao
i can smell Television and Sonic Youth on them. bass player almost reminds me of Cliff Burton, transportive but brutal.

gonna try to think of some, def wont be any demos in there though
how long is "for years"? like do the who lifehouse songs count that were shelved but released as b sides a few years later
yeah as long as theres a crusty '68 recording as well

yeah i think they were one of the heavier bands at this point, a lot of the good heavy psych ones in their ilk were around 1969-1970 too. i dont really seem them as that unique at all style-wise compared to the rest of those groups though, just one of the better ones probably and more jammy than most
funny you mention sonic youth and television, have you made the grateful dead connection with either of those yet?
did i not post 1968 grateful dead highlights yet
thought I did but couldnt find quickly trying to look back

yeah man i get it. those bands have more balls than the Dead however
Allmans closest thing to The Dead i really love probably

disagree besides sonic youth (for the rawest era Dead anyway). feedback part of that era is also kinda underrated for its noisiness, not a lot of other bands would leave you with 5-10minutes of teeth shaking noise
since we are winding down 1968 now ill post a titanic peak jam 2nd set from October. i dont think i posted this before. features a pretty unique jam out of New Potato Caboose. show is also notable because of the absense of keyboardist/non-acid taker Pigpen, he was kinda starting to drag down the band because he couldnt jam like the rest. he just played the same riff over and over or sat in silence sometimes while the others actually explored. and within about another year he was almost off keyboard duty altogether, or at least limited to his blues romps

i just thought the 60s were too dusty for everyone but they all came up with lists that they were harassed about for months

maybe they agree with me that ranking albums is a lot easier than ranking songs
