Dylan lowkey had more classics than anybody that year but didnt even release most of them
didnt realize they were doing this on tv in '68 @RVI
Gram already gone but Clarence snapped

another one of the all time A/B combos
Stones best single and the b-side couldn't be better. perfect mixture of the psychedelic era and sith lord era.

I noticed Hendrix estate finally put s*** on youtube so I'm gonna post some 1967 rarities even tho we just advanced to 1968
these two on the same single
one of the best ever @twinkletoez
Soul and funk
Yung MJ perfectly mimicking James Brown for his Motown audition
little man was obviously in the building for this

these two on the same single
one of the best ever @twinkletoez
Let's Go Crazy / Erotic City its only competition
Let's Go Crazy / Erotic City its only competition
I Get Around/Dont Worry Baby
Hound Dog/Dont Be Cruel
thats just off the top. there aren't alot of other absolute god level combos but there are some.
1967:
instrumental version of Bold as Love with crazy soloing:

blues song that he played at first before eventually morphing it into his own Hear My Train a Comin:

early version of the song Angel which later became pretty famous released posthumously:

there are a few BBC sessions of this song, instrumental song by Curtis Knight whom he worked with pre-fame

Day Tripper cover with prominent backing vocals from Mitchell and Redding

will post some for 1968 too, the vault material gets more fruitful as the years progress
1968:
different take of Voodoo Chile, shorter but still damn near peak Hendrix:

nice unfinished but still pretty fleshed out song, he ditched it and re used some lyrics later

absolutely gnarly jam, was released in mangled sacrilegious form on some posthumous album and later covered by drone metal greats Earth. some of his heavier stuff:

solid version of Gloria:

song he originally started in the pre-Experience days, idk if he ever would have released it because of similarities to other songs but it's still a fully fleshed out recording:

highly regarded live performance from '68, i like the live versions of Are You Experienced and Little Wing which hardly ever got played live:

feel like i could keep finessing this list until the end of time but its snowing out and i gotta change up the Summer '67 vibe so;

i put the battery in your back
first time the beedles placed in the top half dozen in years
Hendrix at #1?
Hendrix at #1?
Yeah?
I know it's not considered one of his masterpieces but it's always blown me away. firing on all cylinders, bringing the gospel and the baroque to his cutting edge psych rock. Grim goth lyric hits like a brick in the wee hours.

feeling very depressed today, give me some recs 2 help the pain @Elric
