I'm getting ahead of myself, but i was listening to 'Long, Long, Long' by The Beatles (Harrison penned track) this morning which came out a year later, and it kind of gets lost in the shuffle when discussing the best tracks from latter side of The Beatles' run.

It also shares a similar melody to Sad-Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands which dropped 2 years prior and Harrison and Dylan developed a friendship whilst Bob was chilling and stepped away from the limelight following his motorcycle accident, so it's a bit more of a concidence and i ain't got my tinfoil headgear on for that take 😅

Harrison really had some variety when it came to the subject matter of his tracks that made the cut for The White Album:

While My Guitar Gently Weeps is pure piff and Clapton slapped with his guitar solo, and I ain't a big Clapton head.

    Piggies 🐷

Long, Long, Long beautiful melody, heartfelt vocal performance, production is on deck 🤌

Savoy Truffle 🔥 🔥 🔥 George just listing off a food menu while flexing on his sweet tooth and that production

All of this factual but still save it for '68

Wait...all this talk about '68 Beatles when George dropped one of the hardest tracks of the current year of discussion in this thread.

I didn't really rate it as a teenager, but i've grown more fond over time. I think witnessing and appreciating the growth and development of Harrison's songwriting is one of the dopest aspects of being a Beatleshead. I was so harsh on Rubber Soul the other day, and was rightfully checked by more level-headed music cats on here

Yeah that's a cool vibe but this is George's masterpiece of '67

it's really a departure from what he did previously like it's quite spectacular how many styles he explored in such a short period.

it's crazy this is a beatles track, sounds like something early heavy metal bands would experiment with.

    that distortion though

George Martin broke the chain ⛓

This would probably be my song of the year if it was actually released purest most potent outpouring of emotion I can think of @HeyFella @rise_zero

Like the lyrics are pretty muddy but just that melody and the way he caresses it is unreal

I was gonna say can't hear '66 anymore but I actually haven't heard this sounds like he was close to conjuring another lost masterpiece. That lilting thing does when he gets emotional

Looks like the guy that runs that YouTube channel edited that and made it sound listenable and almost like a demo quality at least explains why I've never heard it

It’s really good. I love his voice on it. The melody almost sounds like it’s about to turn into Without You by Harry Nillson at any minute.
