What are your top 3
I need to watch another Sternberg/Dietrich to make sure I don't f*** with them. What's my best bet if Shanghai was a slog
Gonna check out Miriam Hopkins work with Lubitsch I think. Love Wilder so I'm sure it'll hit
Well peak of their collab, Scarlett Express, is the major fever dream opus. Some of the craziest set design you'll ever see which Sternberg designed himself. but they're all great films imo. Might better to just try and go chronological.
Miriam is cool too. Trouble In Paradise is a mastapiece.

I dont get it
but yeah it blows my mind when I hear people like Marlene and Orson speak of Garbo in hushed whispers like she an untouchable goat
never been moved by her or given one of her films more than a 3/5.
Every Sternberg/Marlene gets 4.5 or 5 from me but you gotta get acclimated to their style. Also dont miss Sterbergs holy silent trinity of Underworld/Docks Of New York/Last Command.
