In addition to the first appearance of Walter Brennan and Joel McCrae I've seen this old school logging/commerce flick Come And Get It has an old civil war era song called Aura Lee playing through half the film which I had to look up cause it sounded so much like Love Me Tender and I just read that indeed that was the melodic inspiration for the song @HeyFella @sace

his best feat is probably assasins et voleurs, the storytelling and narration is sharper than gillette

i've seen it 3 times and the scene with darry cowl is probably the best thing he's ever done. it never stops being funny

along with renoir, guitry was the only one from that generation of filmmakers that didn't get s*** on by the cahiers gang
