Yeah we agree on basically everything so i didnt understand what was the issue. I think that recognizing the reality of the situation and the system we're in can help us find a solution to the treatment of workers in general. Obviously the people who are actually involved in a product should get most if not all of the profit, but we're so far from that reality that applying that logic to today's world to me is useless. It should be what we strive for, but being unreasonable and asking that much for voicing a game as niche as this with small if not nonexistant profit isnt the way to go. Progress is thankfully being made, since 10 years ago she would've probably been offered a laughable contract, but thanks to people like jennifer hale who now actually voices bayo we're seeing some improvement, and i doubt shes being paid the 100k you think (and its def agreeable) she deserves. But if you want to be taken seriously you need to be reasonable while obviously not giving your hand too much. I made my intentions clear in the past days, im for the workers rights so in that sense i always supported hellena's decision (despite disliking her needlessly attacking kamiya and hale), but lying like this only hurts the movement, as the companies now may be stricter and less lenient on working alongside the union. Hopefully it doesnt end this way tho, and i mostly hope the next step for va is finally getting guaranteed royalties, which is what the biggest takeaway from this controversy is

Its 245mill for GTAV but it doesnt matter. Budgets for these AA games are way higher than you think. Thats why they rarely get made anymore. Developers rather do a big AAA title instead or a smaller indie game. Look i dont know what we are even arguing about at this point. I think the real VA pay is more than enough. Its not like the VA is the only job that matters. She is probably already earning more than the people that are in charge of the animation for Bayonetta or the people that work on the level design.

245 mil is with the marketing and gta 5 gets a f*** ton of marketing unlike bayo so the only relevant number was the 130m for development

But the voice of bayonetta is a part of the character so it’s a lot harder to quantify it’s importance imo

I just think it’s a bit silly to say the star actor for the main character shouldn’t be paid 100k if the profits of the game are gonna be 100m+, especially if game is named after the character (you could argue some games the main character isn’t as important, like cyberpunk)

I agree for the hours VA is kinda crazy but it’s hard to quantify it because the voice is part of the character and the character is iconic
