Bayo 2 launched exclusively on Wii U which sold like 13 million consoles worldwide, and at the time of bayo 2 release it was just a few million consoles sold

that’s why bayo 2 didn’t sell well lol, even when it was ported to switch there were only like 20-30 million switch users. Now it’s 4x that. And there’s no other big game dropping this year besides Pokémon so there’s a lot of people who will try it because of lack of games

Bro 100k for 16 hours of work is insane money, thats marvel movie s*** come on now. Bayo isnt a AAA 10 million copies seller, its a niche ip, and while i agree that va should be paid more, the pay has to be reasonable too. Getting residuals is one thing that i support, getting 100k is another thing altogether that for a game and a role like this is just too much

Bro executives are making millions and aren’t even working on the game, you’re so cucked by corporations you’re literally criticizing employees for making 0.01% of the profit

Even if this game only sells 4 million copies max that’s $240,000,000 profit, excluding amiibos and merch where the margins are even better

Marvel actors make like $20m and filming lasts a couple months max

The best bayo game sold 1 million and thats counting a switch version, this could go maybe (and thats a big if for now) up to 2 million, and considering the cost of development, marketing, and all the devs that need to get paid beside of course the f***ing ceos the game needs some return of investment if the series has to continue. I agree with you that va should be paid more i dont know why you're getting mad, but asking for a price this much higher on the spot for the leading role on a niche game isnt the move, there's a union for this in which the now leading character va is a big part of that is working to rightly get better wages and this doesnt help, plus the fact she threw this va under the bus also not helping. All of this started for nothing, situation could've been handled much better without insulting other voice actors or lying about your salary. Hopefully people wont stop paying attention to the real issue which is the state of voice acting in the game industry

I wrote that bayo 2 sold a million WITH the switch version. And switch being so popular doesnt change the fact bayonetta is a niche series in a niche genre. Shin megami tensei released on the switch and managed only 1 million copies. Xenoblade is the best reviewed switch exclusive of 2022 so far and will at best sell 3 million copies. Metroid dread has a cult following online larger than almost any series and has manged to only sell 3 million. Warioware is a party game and sold 1 million

Look at those games earlier numbers my guy. SMT previous entry sold like 500k total worldwide. Games are selling double, triple, quadruple what they usually sell

Also I looked it up and bayo 2 sold more than 1 mil JUST the port on switch, on Wii U it sold way less than that

And bayo 2 port launched when switch had small player base, its now up 5x since then

The executives are not making millions. Platinum one of the brokest studios you can find. They basically keep themselves afloat by doing contractual work for other publishers. Bayonetta 3 also falls in that line. Nintendo paying for everything.

Again, you're taking with the wrong person if you think im cucked by the capitalist system, but i also dont live in a fantasy world where the realities of capitalism dont exist. I know that ceos should be paid less and the devs more, but f***ing bayonetta is the last example of this idea you can find in this goddamn industry lmfaooo. Nintendo has only lost money on the series, so there's not much money going to the ceos either way, and platinum is far from a profitable company, since their biggest works are contracted by other companies. Im with you if we're talking microsoft, sony, even nintendo's other games (hell a botw va talked about his contract for the game which was far from ideal) but bayonetta is just not that series man, this series was flat out rejected by sony and microsoft if nintendo didnt offer to fund it it would've been dead in the ground and hellena wouldnt even be in this position in the first place

Porting bayo 2 probably cost barely anything and they made at least 60mil, and since the dev team was already paid for their work that 60mil went to executives, not the devs

This is where residuals would come in handy and give her the royalties from her role, since it was a re-release where she wasnt called again, residuals would still give her money from the new release. And that's what the union is fighting for for which i heavily agree so i dont understand what you're trying to say here. And again, bayo 2 on wii u lost a lot of money, so the switch release just made their money back and maybe had a slight profit from which again some should've went to her

Yeah and so what? Bayonetta is still a niche franchise with a very small fanbase compared to most other s*** on Switch. Yea, Switch has like 110 million sold but how many of these are fans of Bayonetta type games? Most Switch players are casuals that play Mario Kart, Smash or Animal Crossing. And even out of the people that like those Bayonetta type games, not everyone is going to buy it like me for example. The install base argument is only true to a very minor degree. You clearly don't know how sales work. Yeah, its true that a higher install base can lead to higher sales but if the genre has very limited commercial potential, even a high install base is not going to do much for it. Otherwise every new Pokemon game on the Switch would sell more than the last because the install base is higher. Bayonetta will probably sell like 2million and that will already be a record for the franchise.
