YANDHIIts a $40M horror flick aiming for Halloween season. Can't exactly compare it to other major CBMs that will have $200M just on marketing to spend over several months. There's no incentive to throw major money early.
Best comparison is probably Joker which was an October 2019 release at $50M (and Clayface has way lower stakes). We didn't get a teaser until April.
People be fiends now a days I don’t need a trailer 6 months before a movie drops . There is no need to market that long and build up expectations/ release too much info
