    Its a $40M horror flick aiming for Halloween season. Can't exactly compare it to other major CBMs that will have $200M just on marketing to spend over several months. There's no incentive to throw major money early.

    Best comparison is probably Joker which was an October 2019 release at $50M (and Clayface has way lower stakes). We didn't get a teaser until April.

    People be fiends now a days I don’t need a trailer 6 months before a movie drops . There is no need to market that long and build up expectations/ release too much info

    Assuming the dcu doesn’t end up super disjointed from movie to movie like the dceu this movie could tell us a whole lot about what kind of world dcu Gotham is

    David Coren was pretty unknown more or less and turned out to be great great casting (cheap ish too which is important rn)

    I don’t see the issue going more lowkey with Batman in this universe
