Its a $40M horror flick aiming for Halloween season. Can't exactly compare it to other major CBMs that will have $200M just on marketing to spend over several months. There's no incentive to throw major money early.

Best comparison is probably Joker which was an October 2019 release at $50M (and Clayface has way lower stakes). We didn't get a teaser until April.

Fair, but what exactly is there to show early? You'd want to tease the appearance and hopefully show as little of it as possible.

That film's probably going to be fairly grounded other than when he transitions at the climax and later in the film. They're going to need a gripping way to promote it and i think its best to wait. This isn't even the 1st or 2nd film about a failed actor undergoing a botched procedure in the last 2 years either.
