BlueDreamI’ll always defend The Batman 3rd act solely because Bruce’s arc in the film is incomplete without it.
Batman needed to do a big heroic act in order to realize that he needed to be a beacon of hope for Gotham instead of vengeance. If you ended the film before that 3rd act, Bruce’s arc is incomplete and he hasn’t really changed that muchThe worst aspect of the 3rd act is that it just didn’t flow well with the rest of the film. It should’ve been built up better throughout the movie . It feels like the movie is about to end but then you realize there’s a whole nother act to go . But I think it was necessary for Bruce to do a big heroic act before he could truly grow as a hero
Also the 3rd act gave us these shots , so I’m very thankful for that
His arc is wrapped up the moment he influences Selina not to shoot Falcone, and makes the same message about vengeance. That obligatory big action blockbuster final (fourth) act is reiterating the same message

Bruce would’ve stopped her from killing regardless, I wouldn’t say stopping her from doing that would complete his arc of becoming Gotham’s “beacon of hope”. He was just stopping her from throwing her life away
It didn’t truly start to sink in to him that his vengeance persona was causing more harm than good until the Riddler goon called himself “Vengeance”
Bruce needed this.

Not sure what my take would be. People love the car chase and I thought it looked like garbage. Much more into the precinct scene where Jeffrey Wright and him play off each other and he does the goofy roof jump that f***s him up. Fincher and Nolan don't really do stuff like that

Penguin literally laughs at their detective skills mid film so I’d wager the film agrees with you here, especially with his wobbly skills by the end
