  • CrimsonArk

One of the people working on it apparently called it “After Hours with zombies.”

With the success of 9, I wonder if this has a shot of being THE horror movie of the year.

not even just the success of 9 but how big video game IP's are now and how much that demographic has been activated and wants to go see movies.

fallout is one of the biggest shows currently airing. obviously mario, minecraft and sonic. that markiplier video game horror movie, that mid Until Dawn movie and the bad Five Nights sequel all made 50 millionish despite not being good

coming off the post weapons hype and mixing the the video game adaptation trend with a genre that can reliably turn out and audience like horror, is a recipe for something big IMO

If anyone can successfully do a GTA movie (yes I know the games rip a lot from movies like Scarface, heat, etc) they should win an Oscar lmao

    I’ll do it

The story follows Bryan, played by Zach Abrams, a package delivery driver tasked with transporting a mysterious briefcase to Raccoon City Hospital during a deadly virus outbreak. Abrams is basically playing the same kind of character he did in “Weapons” — a slightly off-kilter, d***gie-type who gets thrown into chaos. It’s not meant to be a deep performance, and that’s the point. The character works more like a player avatar, just moving from one nightmare scenario to the next.

Zach Adams is gonna be a big deal. Loved his performance in The Line and weapons.

first comparison was Evil Dead 2, then it was Mad Max Fury Road, and now it's After Hours. what's the next comparison, The Sound of Music?

    There’s full on monsters apparently.

Assuming original designs mostly, haven’t peeped the script that leaked.

Evil Dead 2 because of the gore and apparently wild camera work, Fury Road due to the unrelenting momentum of the film, and After Hours due to it’s overt dark humor (ie a poor schmuck, way in over his head, finds himself in increasingly absurd situations within the span of a single night).
