Sound design in this movie was incredible.

When Bryan’s in the elevator and you can hear all the chaos going on around him on every floor as he passes them.

The movie is 80 minutes excluding credits

I know it’s a fast movie that once he is bitten kind of know how it will go or feel yes I heard he gets turned by ending due to twitter someone pretending to guess ending but knowing it . The journey to get from point a to b of the ending to me was a hollow journey

  • thinking about seeing it again.

Facts. There’s no way at all that Zach did all those things as pure coincidence.

He could’ve removed all those things and the plot remains the same. He added it in for the purpose of having some type of emotional depth to the story.

According to Shaleirose he was doing that but there is no emotion to it because it’s just a comedy action movie when I’m saying can I even say this is great as a comedy action movie ? I don’t know

Shawn of the dead was funny to me this I don’t know

I get loving the movie I get yall cregger fans . I get hating the fervent game fans who are unreasonable . But some of you are being intellectually dishonest when this movie didn’t need to be called resident evil to accomplish its same story . It truly didn’t . The idea of searching in a house , finding ammo , a typewriter when the soul of the game is more than that or rapid fire jokes .

How do you feel about Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness

Wait are they saying comedy action flicks can’t have emotion?

I love how the camera moves with what’s going on in that scene and another scene in the beginning

  • I think he captured how I feel about the other characters besides Bryan.

they basically all feel like NPCs

I think for whatever reason Harold expected this movie to have greater emotional resonance to it than was ever suggested by any of the marketing material and the director himself.

It’s an action horror comedy hybrid in the vein of Evil Dead and the splatterhouse flicks of the 90s, and I’d argue has a deeper emotional core to it that’s reflected throughout the film itself thematically than most of those types of flicks (including the Evil Deads).

I literally listed reasons why I felt that the way I did and rather than respond to them you just said “ nuh uh “ then you were so uncertain in what you believed you edited it

@twitch brother what has this forum become

    I edited a typo

No. I’m saying that not every movie NEEDS to have emotional depth to qualify as a good film. You can’t judge every film by the same scorecard

so what was the goal of the plot point about having a family , abortion , shooting a little girl in the face , walking through a maternity ward

Does art just wash over you with no messaging at all ? Thinking that has no emotion charged to it has all the makings of a sociopath

There are very, very brief flashes of emotional backstory to Bryan’s character, but it is far from a major element of the movie.

The movie is “this guy has to get from Point A to Point B and here is a bunch of scary, cool s*** that happens to him while he’s on that journey”

If there was an attempt by Cregger for there to be an emotional hook to this movie, then we would’ve seen some aftermath from Michelle when he turns into a monster, or some emotional resolution after the major climax

You’re looking at the minor details in the background of what this film is, zooming in on them 200%, and complaining that the movie overall doesn’t accomplish them better, when the whole time that’s not what the movie is trying to even make you see in the picture

I’d give this 3 1/2 to 4 stars. Really enjoyed it. There were certain decisions the main character would make that I found obnoxiously annoying but only because I was genuinely enthralled enough in the film to actually care. Everything up until the Tunnel scene was genuinely unnerving lol and had everyone on the edge of their seat. Definitely can’t say I’ve ever had that feeling watching any previous RE films but judging from Zach’s other films, I’m not surprised. He knows how to craft the right environment to make a motherfucker feel uncomfortable and he does that pretty brilliantly in this film to be honest. It’s a really great popcorn flick. Nothing more, nothing less and that puts it well above any of the previous films.

Yeah I just wish they didn’t dumb down his character for comedic relief purposes

Cus on one hand you can’t tell me this is a guy who delivers important things like organs and cures

But on the other hand you’re telling me he’s clinically slow and does things such as ‘throws the ladder away knowing he still needs it to climb down’

You don’t gotta be the smartest guy in the room to deliver packages

Also, guys, you’re forgetting that the character is experiencing the most traumatic s*** in his life. Anybody in that scenario isn’t making the absolute smartest decisions on a moment-to-moment basis. The movie doesn’t show him doing anything else super big brained that contradicts with the ladder s*** to where it would make you go “yeah I don’t get why HE did that”. He’s shown to be a regular, average joe

This is one of those “I’m an outsider of a horrible situation so I can apply objective logic to this situation” moments.

The dude just shot a woman in the chest that previously he mowed down with his car and is being chased by a ravenous dog, his rational thought is gonna kinda go out the window in that situation.

Some of yall legit sound like you got Cinemasins brainrot going on.

Lmao bro…. The nigga looked at the window as an escape route… throws away the ladder for no reason but to antagonize the dog and then gets to the window and says “oh yeah…. F***” like cmon now
