he goes the hardest out of those and Lupe literally called him his master

As if Nas didn't wash Hov on Success with deeper bars, more raw flow, and a cooler presence on the track

Y'all stay underrating and disrespecting Nas

Love nas but jayz washed him on success.

Lyrically KA is up there for me. Arguably the best writer in hip hop

Jay z nas and big are objectively better than pac too

No they are not. Maybe from a technical standpoint but that doesn't necessarily translate to better music.

Ka is so so good, he just bores me lately. Vocal mix low, monotone flow, same content. He's elite though. Top 5 still rapping. Wish I could enjoy him more.

Yeah I feel the same. As amazing as his writing and production are, I wish he would switch it up some more. Curious to see what a different flow would look like for him

    Marcus is Dust

Tried the stove top to hop off the old block
None chipped in to save me
During my reign what I showered is gifts for the baby
Gears of war years before I enlisted with Navy
Too many struggling loved ones to ever sit in Mercedes
From that population where spread love's the obligation
For a good span my hood ran like a sovereign nation
But then D-Day planes dropped off 'caine to freeways
Them pounds made battlegrounds in tenements and PJs
For economy many fought D's in the street disastrous
Ironically many bought a Jesus piece or a Lazarus
Even friends in the frenzy became ravenous
Brothers named universal, wise, supreme became savages
It's said the common thread with our enemies
Is we was all men in need with no amenities
Couldn't sit in peace, we each hit the streets for remedies
Through the hatred accumulated a hundred arms, we was centipedes
The stress of empty pantries kept us antsy
And all our essentials essentially in a shanty
Could give scripture but that big picture is what you can't see
Every grain I spelt is what helped enhance me
Went from gun waving to saving lives
Now I give sight to the blind just for the 85
That's what I was in the line of scrimmage
Lost some folks of course, that growth redefined percentage
Doomed in the womb, surprised I ain't see a hanger
Start questioning affection when all you see is anger
But now I'm in good hands
Surrounded by good women, good babies, good mans
    I'm in good hands
Surrounded by good women, good babies, good mans

Still can’t believe he wrote this s***

It's frustratin' when you just can't express yourself
And it's hard to trust enough to undress yourself

You really think that Jay Elec is better than Nas, HOV, Andre,Wayne,etc...?

    Why?

Because he's able to so succinctly speak to the human experience in such simplistic terms, themes everyone can relate to. That would be the main reason. But beyond that, when he's just rapping, I think his voice, flow, word choice etc., are all elite. I think people have this huge misconception of him as a lyrical/miralce/spiritual rapper which couldn't be farther from the truth, and they also think he's always pulling out such obscure references which isn't necessarily true either. Even from a standpoint of writing rap lyrics, he excels beyond most rappers ever, without sacrificing message.

  • Oct 13, 2020

Basically, I think Act 1, Dear Moleskine, to me to u verse, Better in Tune etc., are the peak of hip hop as far as singular songs go

"lyrical/miralce/spiritual rapper" is just a term for kids who started listening to rap in 2018.

I agree he's a good rapper, but I just feel like their isn't enough content in his discog to praise him as THE BEST.

    Also that anti-semitic s*** was offputting, I couldn't f*** with that .

Nas shat on him. You're the first person I've ever seen who even says this lol.

Jay's delivery was kinda clumsy, like he kept trying to find his pocket on that beat, and for the most part wasn't really saying s***.

He was pretty good overall.. but Nas went in like a supervillain at the end, with a flow that cuts like a knife, and snatched the track from him with ease.

"Why is life worth living? Is it the hunt for the s*** that you want? To receive's great, but I lust GIVING". GAME OVER at this point. The rest was amazing too.

Nas will always be superior to Jay, and that's that on that.
