I made the point very clearly if you could read. There is an objective measure when it comes to Nas vs DJ Khaled. But there’s a threshold to that. When you reach a certain threshold of skill, it becomes more about preference. I agree that the NY dudes are better than Pac but for the sake of argument can you break down how you would objectively rank BIG Nas and Hov? If you have an objective system to put Jay E at #1 you should also have a rating for them that’s indisputable and iron clad. Obviously you’re much smarter than the barber shops who have debated it through the years

Fam even if I am, this topic is serious to me and idk why you won’t offer a solid explanation of your point instead of these one liners. Between you and me I like to rustle the jimmies of drake stans every now and then, but my presence on this site isn’t strictly on some troll s***, I’ve been here since 07 and I’ve known of you and had respect for you for a decade. I definitely like to have fun on here but this isn’t really one of those times, I’m trying to understand your point and legitimately argue against it

I love Jay Elec’s body of work so much. Getting Act 2 was a really special moment for me and Real Magic in particular has really been helping me with my current mind state

The reason I’m arguing with you is because you’re saying so firmly that he’s the objective GOAT. And I have two issues with that because it’s very clear to me that 1. There is no GOAT and 2. If we are to try and use objective measurements to somehow determine a true GOAT, it cannot under any circumstances be Jay Electronica.

You really connect with dude and I respect that. The artist who connected with me most in the blog era was Charles Hamilton. I’ve spoken with him directly multiple times and to me, he put out at least 20 perfect classic albums in 2008 and 2009 alone. He has made more music than anyone in history besides Lil B and Viper (which are debatable) and in my opinion he has more classic albums than any other rapper has albums.

But am I going to make a thread saying he’s the objective GOAT just because I connect with him most, just because he saved my life on multiple occasions? No because I’m not delusional. Once you try to make it objective, all this “well this song is better” stuff goes out the window. The closest we can get to objectivity in music is mass subjectivity. That’s just the fact of the matter. You saying Better In Tune With The Infinite is better than Ice Ice Baby means less than nothing if we are attempting to take it into an objective place

Your desire to make art objective is understandable, but it’s also surprising to me that you don’t see how pointless and futile it is
