Ppl made good music in 2002

He was like a bootleg Rakim/GZA/Killah Priest lmao

It's crazy that he stepped it up bc otherwise we would've never even heard of him. That project was like one of those C tier Wu Tang affiliates.

Yh i just mean he had to come into his own it was a long time ago

As a musical performer Kendrick s***s on Jay Elect it's not even close. There's a reason why Kendrick is going down in history as one of the most iconic musicians in the last 20 years all genres included. Jay Elect just a niche artist with a cult following.

Yeah but bar for bar tho, he's not touching jay

It was only like a 5 year difference

Most Wu affiliates have been making the same music with no signs of progression for 3 decades

I'm cool with the opinion that Jay is better with bars but Kendrick takes it as a storyteller.

See they're in different lanes. Storytelling is Kendrick's thing, he ain't really about bars.

Yeah they're pretty different in that accord, but in terms of like just overall writing, who think does it better

  • Give me ONE song that proves this or at least begs the question

No, and even if he did who cares? One deep track off one of Nas' least celebrated albums.. it doesn't get performed live and no one but the few Jay E stans care for it like that. Nas was already a certified GOAT before Jay E started his career. Stop with this argument Jay E stans it's really embarrassing.

I think the fact Jay Z and Nas both worked extremely closely to craft songs off of Jay Elect’s visions and themes speaks for itself. Lmaooooo. I’ll take their actual actions to speak for Jay Elect’s abilities than the arguments I’m reading in this thread for others. I don’t see two certified goats going to any other MCs mentioned in this thread like that.

Lol. Eminem helped provide visions on entire albums for themes and production and direction for both Nas and Jay Z? where? Or did he just provide a verse? Come on, make better arguments hahahaha. I’m not saying Jay Elect is the greatest of all time but I will say he’s one of the most talented for sure.

    Yeah he produced for both

Renegade was literally an Em song that Jay bought

Plus Moment of Clarity hook is structured like a typical 00's Em hook

Jay E never produced entire albums for them, what are you even talking about?

He produced one track for Nas and that's it. So did Eminem

Maybe Jay Elect's vision of Untitled would've been dope if the collab came to fruition. But it didn't and we'll never know.
