Seems they used the Xbox ports as an excuse to further optimize the game, and appear to have made significant strides that they can use for the PC and PS5 versions.

I feel you. Definitely need more closure on BG3. But KOTOR is my favorite franchise possibly of all time and I really need more Star Wars DnD system games

How you get into this game? I feel like I got no idea what I’m doing, never played DnD before.

you got some companions already?

Try to follow their advice on what to do and talk to them frequently theyll set you on a path.

There is also no sidecontent everything is optional/ main content so going anywhere is right. Watch the enemy levels tho you wanna be around the same level as them.

Alot of the fun from the game and combat comes from finding your own solutions. Play around with the spells and abilities. For starters there is gravity so pushing enemies of edges. You can always respec for only 100 gold so dont worry about leveling up just do what sounds good to you. Which class you pick?

The game gives you alot of freedom of what to do you basically cannot do wrong. I wouldnt worry about missing content just do your own thing. Bear in mind tho its a game were what you say to people actually matters so dont just flip people off since they might attack you

One thing I'm confused about is the resting/camp. How often should I be doing so?

there are no timelimits on anything even tho the game kinda gives you a false sense of urgency. Taking a long rest at camp will restore your abilities while short rests heal you a bit. Buy camp supplies when you can and rest how often you want. There is also alot of content with your companions at the camp so talking to them before going to bed is recommended.

Also Bard is a great choice for main character that does the talking since you have high charisma so try to persuade and trick people in dialogues. You can achieve quite alot with just talking enemies out of fighting you and you will be similarly rewarded with XP. Bard is powerful but a bit wonky early however couple levels and youre basically a swiss army knife and can do almost anything in the game quite well.
