lmao i was on ktt, other hip hop forums and in real life when tpab dropped and people were making similar complaints about the music, "i dont wanna here this" "i mean technically its alright but i cant actively enjoy this, vibe to it" this isn't everyone but i saw this sooooo muchh etc. mr morale has critical acclaim to but its not gonna hit the same as an awaited sophomore follow up.

"I’m not saying that no one loves To Pimp a Butterfly. I’m saying that no one enjoys this album as much as we'd hoped we'd enjoy it in March." s*** like this was all over, whether you wanna go twitter, radio, podcasts, etc.
there's never a monolithic response to something but this was a decent portion of the response, from what i saw

And DAMN was criticized by TPAB lovers lmaooo
And DAMN was criticized by TPAB lovers lmaooo
real time i saw swathes of people complaining after each album, tpab critic bait, damn too plain and dumbed down, etc etc
just let these niggas think they’re seeing through the Matrix or whatever, you’re not gonna convince them lmao
You right Lmaoo
I just want drake fans to let go of Control man lol. Seems like both him and kendrick done it, why dont yall follow suit?
Were the other threads made by people who engage in stan wars against the people she was s*** talking or nah
It’s the usual suspects like I said lmao
You're silly if you think I make ANY thread to engage in ''stan wars.'' I even label some of my threads as ''discussion'' so people know not to come in there to talk s***. Stan wars don't accomplish anything.
Some of you just like to assume that when I make a thread, because I'm a Drake fan, there must be some agenda. Y'all used to do that s*** when I'd make threads about the biggest albums, songs, artists of the year or the most streamed artists of the year and claim I only did that to praise Drake like it's my fault he's bigger than the rest of y'alls favorite rappers.

you are known as one of the worst users here for a reason
It’s funny to watch cuz all the coasts influence each other. I pointed out how EPMD made a prototype g funk record before Dre and Above The Law but on the flip side
DJ Premier had a hand in plenty of classic NY records and he’s from Houston, Texas lol
It's just weird how people be saying NY hates on the south when there have been so many collaborations between NY rappers and southern producers since the 80s and 90s.
S***, NY rappers in the 90s had so much love for southern rappers and groups like Scarface/Geto Boys, 8Ball & MJG, and of course UGK. Biggie and Jay Z would often praise Scarface and would even say they got some of their flows from him. There was never shame and it was basically just real recognize real. Lotta NY producers would even cite the sample work/production from 2 Live Crew as influential and the feeling was mutual because they'd be pulling from some of the most random records to sample.
Feel like the only people still pushing the NY vs south narrative are nerds who were born in 2000 who only started to really follow rap/hip-hop in the 2010s. These people really think niggas was region locked or some s*** back in the day and nah the actual reality is niggas from all over were collabing and f***ing with each other's music.

That album has a 96/100 on metacritic and was rated the #1 album of the year on damn near every publication's year-end list. Yes, some people might have said they didn't enjoy it but that didn't stop them from calling it classic/timeless. Of course not EVERYONE would feel that way but when I say ''culturally,'' I mean, the massive majority thought it was genius/body/great/classic, etc, even if they didn't ''get it'' yet.
The same thing happened with MMATBS. People saying the album was hard to listen to/it wasn't a fun listen/they don't go back to it but that didn't stop them from calling it great and giving it positive reviews.

bro that sentence with the Khaled emoji got me lirl rn
still waiting on her collab with sgp s*** would go schizo
Scarface s*** is a fact cuz he was on Jay's Dynasty album. Hov collabed with Juvenile.
50 Cent went on tour with Cash Money in his pre-GRODT days. Outkast worked with Raekwon. Jermaine Dupri produced for Lil Kim's hardcore album lol
I think people look at s*** like the 95 Source Awards and the East Coast / West Coast drama and think mfs was just s***ting on the south when in reality the situation was more layered than that lol
"NY just bitter they don't influence anybody and they hate everybody not from NY!"
Except...

And there are so many other examples throughout the 80s, 90s, and 00s.
And let's not even get into how Outkast were rapping like NY niggas all over Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik and how much of the production on ATLiens was influenced by NY rap groups like A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, and Digable Planets. Outkast didn't fully get into their sound til Aquemini...and even then

Hope y'all realize how f***in stupid y'all look/sound when you try to be on that weirdo region beef bullshit. East coast, West coast, North, South, been f***in with each other for decades. We on the 50 year anniversary of hip-hop for f***s sake do some f***in homework
It's open season for anybody when it comes to her. These came outta nowhere btw
LMFAO

I beleive the correct term is lesbian
Kendrick fans don’t think this thread is calculated cuz of the slander niggas just pointing out it’s the usual stan wars suspects 😭😭
On god, I hate when these niggas throw rocks and play dense and hide their hands when people call out their obvious bullshit lol.
A lot of rappers feel this way but they saw how French Montana was done when he slipped up and told the truth
Yup. That's why a lot of ppl on here don't really want to say what they feel about Kendrick. The smallest criticism of him and you get attacked by 5-10 stans. S*** is weird

Cuh hasn’t made a good song since her debut and is saying CyHi > Kendrick with a straight face
Unreal levels of misplaced confidence I’m impressed
