This whole thing is centered around the torment and cementing of Spider-Man and RDJ’s casting is a byproduct of that I’m convinced

What if the RDJ casting is a stunt/bait and switch cast for an end of 1st act twist recreating this panel everyone wants to see, but with the real Victor Von Doom killing the p**** Tony Variant version

It lets them attach RDJ to the movie really early bypassing any leaks that he’s on set, hides the actual Doom casting and creates excitement/confusion/chatter.

Insane leak culture really proliferated post WandaVision and then NWH, so I can see them trying to get creative for the next huge avengers movie in a leak culture world
