    Key word: showing

Numbers and vocal retelling doesn’t impact many people, especially when you are a franchise that honestly appeals to the LCD intellectually

Well to be fair they visually showed Kang destroying universes

The 20 second mind scene were like 5 people flashed on the screen and it was bunch of blue beams?? Him holding Cassie on her side like an invisible futon was more menacing than that man

Right or wrong, you’re not getting comparisons from second movie appearance Thanos to second movie appearance Kang. You’re getting “I just broke Thor over my knee without the gauntlet when he was rage amped and had both weapons” and damn near iced the avengers twice Thanos against lost vs ants

I’m just expressing that sentiment exists and it’s something that’ll have to be battled going into the next depiction of this guy

I’m just saying you said “showing”…they did “show” when Janet was able to look inside his mind. That told me enough of him being more powerful than Thanos, I’m not sure what you missed.

I didn’t even originally say more powerful, I said bigger threat. Superman is much more powerful than Batman, but in most retelling, Batman looks much more menacing, esp from the pov of the villains.

That observation is primarily relevant bc half the movie is just other people telling us how terrifying this conqueror is. And all I am “shown” is him doing the same blue beams I saw 80 other people do and losing to ants

My bad with more powerful I meant bigger threat.

It’s an ant man movie, the purpose was to serve as a teaser. You can’t expect to get hours worth of destruction when that’s being saved for Avengers 5.
Same way Thanos wasn’t s*** before Infinity Stone.

But if you compare pre- infinity stone Thanos to Kang, Kang is 100% more menacing. We know he can do s*** with time, we know he’s gonna kill some avengers, and we seen him blow s*** up in a 20 second snippet.

Nah they did some terrible writing with Kangs character in the final fight against Scott

It was what it was. I’m not overjoyed by the ants but I’m not all pissy pants about it either.

I thought they explained pretty well why an ant civilisation thousands of years more advanced than current human civilisation could briefly overpower a lost time traveller at half power.

If they did that to a Kang at full power in an Avengers movie I’d be holding my pitch fork with you but not on this.

Nah, not even referring to the ants. I’m talking about after when Scott fights Kang. Earlier all Kang had to do was point at Scott and he was in a full chokehold, now all sudden he’s powerless and fighting evenly with Scott? All that was, was so Ant man could conveniently win and escape. S\*\*\* made no sense

    Here’s a good script

Kang beasts on the C list nobodies in “Dynasty”, Doom fodderizes most of them, then the second movie is the heroes we want to see vs Kang remnants vs Doom…AND

You put thanos somewhere in there. Will pass up Avatar 2 night one. Give me a spot @Feige

At this point I don’t expect to see Doom properly apart from a post credit scene in F4 until after Secret Wars.

Feels like he picks the bones from Kang after that on the Marvel side while the X-Men fend off Magneto/Mister Sinister/Apocalyse.

At the end of day, we all know Feige is really the one who decides what happens in these movies . And no way he is going to let this director fumble an Avengers film, he’d have the entire move rewritten before that happens

    Imma stay optimistic

Thanos really didn’t do anything until his 4th appearance.

    Kang’s on his 2nd.

People need to allow this to build.

Quantumania’s Kang wasn’t running at full capacity. The Council of Kangs in Avengers: Kang Dynasty and the appearances leading up to it will be.

Plus the fact that the history of Kang dictates that at least one of those Kangs will probably side with the Avengers come Secret Wars and show how legit he is. The fact that Immortus showed up as the head honcho of the Council of Kangs || in the post credits means there’s a pretty good chance Quantumania Kang finds out that ||Immortus bends the knee to the real Time Keepers/Beyonder or whoever and decides to fight alongside the Avengers like he does in Avengers Forever.

This. I’m not sure why some people was expecting kang to be on full display in his first movie appearance.

He means the way that Thanos was introduced. Thanos was an ominous figure looming in the background. Kang lost badly to ant man and a bunch of ants in his first movie introduction. Hard to take him seriously as a threat after that

When Scott was massive he was too busy trying to flee the Quantum Realm in his fortress.

When he was on the ground Scott, Cassie and Hope had a 3-1 advantage and he still creamed them.

Then the ants briefly overpowered him & broke his suit and he still managed to overcome and survive them.

And then with his suit broken and no powers he still beat the tar out of a full power Ant-Man.

And that was all him at half power. Trust, he’ll be fine from here.

It’s more so that when he was shown he should’ve been held to the standard of what his reputation was. He had an army & his tech, there wasn’t much of an excuse

All that talk about conquering worlds & killing avengers was shattered in his debut against some ants, a C list hero & his family

but we know Antman won because of plot, that’s the only legitimate reason tbh

Thanos was introduced in what the end of Avengers 2? Not sure what y’all was so impressed by with that.

But I agree Kang losing to Scott was just terrible writing, but the movie did give us enough information to know that come Avengers 5 he’s more than likely gonna do way more damage than Thanos ever did.

Oh ok, so pretty much his suit got broken? Idk they could of did a better job with that because it came across as if Kang just continently forgot how to use his powers just so Ant man could win

Watch it again. When Kang gets back to the top of his lair before the final fight with Scott his arm is malfunctioning when he tries to use it so he rips the whole arm off the suit.

Yeah I think that just came down to terrible writing. they could have had Kang still win while not fully showcasing his full capabilities
