Pushing this back should have been considered even with no trailer out to get imax screens but pushing it back would push it out of this year so I get it . Then would be begging people to come back to theaters for imax openings after exclusivity window
Rooting for dune purely for Disney embarrassment. They both going to be close to 3 hour movies after gta vi is out so a double feature is crazy
Exclusive 4DX showings on sale now
“Experience DOOM in exclusive 4DX”
Joe Russo: Every aspect of this film was carefully crafted with 4DX in mind
Disney is going to have to make sure the first trailer for this is FLAMES.
No sketchy CGI, no corny jokes .
I think the best choice would be to give us a good shot of Doom in action, and also show Avengers vs Xmen
Disney’s probably realised it doesn’t matter cause most people will just see both like they did with barbenheimer
And ofc they can get people to double dip when they release in IMAX once the dune contact is up

It’s how money is made
I am not lol, though I believe they might change release dates due to IMAX unavailability but an Avengers movie is not getting outdone by Dune
This is just letterboxd-brain talk.
There's a whole world out there who don't even know about Dune but their kids' lunchboxes have Iron Man or Captain America on them.
These Duneheads talking out their ass

Dune’s prob gonna get a boost from Doomsday
It’ll reach a billion off the Marvel stimulus
Dune 1 made 411 million in theaters during peak COVID when it was also day and date on HBO Max
Dune 2 ended up making 715 mil which is higher than every Marvel movie since No Way Home with the exception of Deadpool 3 and Thor 4
You take IMAX away from Avengers and Dune being better means more losses for Marvel
I still fully understand that Doomsday will make more regardless, but Marvel is losing out on even more by keeping this on the same date as Dune
Dune 2 ended up making 715 mil which is higher than every Marvel movie since No Way Home with the exception of Deadpool 3 and Thor 4
This is false.
Multiverse of Madness made $955M
Wakanda Forever made $859M
Guardians Vol. 3 made $845M
Including Far From Home, that's seven different post-Endgame non-Avengers Marvel films that have made more than Dune Part Two. It's not even a question which IP is more popular.
Doomsday's box office floor is around $1.5B
Dune's box office ceiling is $1B
Two totally different ballparks

I'll take this L
My mind was wrapped around Ant-Man, The Marvels, and last year's movies

All good, it happens to the best of us!
Avengers and mcu got the kid money it’s going to make more even if no imax . Doesn’t change that launching same day won’t give it the barbenheimer effect at all .

Yeah cuz there's too much audience crossover
The whole thing with barbeheimer was the disparate demographics

Yup, Barbie and Oppenheimer audiences were pretty much separate
All mainstream block buster audiences are big into both dune and mcu
