Good guy will always win
You can circumvent expectations tho. AoT built itself up to be much more than a shonen. Nobody regards this piece of media in the same category as other "shonen"
Similarly to Chainsawman. Yea it's wearing a shonen disguise but it's so much more than that.
Ending a series the hardest part of it all so there was no way it was gonna satisfy everyone but to be delivered something like what we're getting after all this time just hurts

This show's entire messaging has been against this violence lol
It’s not about wanting the world to die per se, but rather to see realistic character development seen through. There has been way too many sudden shifts in character motivations to get us to the conflict we’re at now. Imo at least. Most of the characters opposing Eren come across dumb as hell now. Also, I’m pretty sure (not a manga reader so I’m guessing) this show is gonna end just like Code Geass (which it already arguably borrows a lot from) so it’s not even like the shifts allowed for an interesting, new sort of ending

Well, that doesn’t give me much to look forward to damn. But not surprising bc I already feel like the cohesion is starting to slip (re: my lack of appreciation for the late character arcs)

I don't think they knew entirely what Eren was thinking.
First it was
"Look we'll molly whop Marley and that'll buy us some time"
Then it was
"Alright let's build world relations outside of Marley:
Next was
"Okay Zeke, we'll do a soft rumbling and let us live out the rest of our lives"
Finally
"Fuck Eren, okay a soft rumbling and that's it...okay I guess you're going to do a full rumbling."
But I do agree the story was quickly writing itself into a tight corner
