yeah he knew it would be Mikasa, Eren just didn’t understand Ymir’s reasoning for why Mikasa killing Eren meant something to her. The actual action of Mikasa killing Eren is what ended the curse of the titans. I think Ymir just needed some closure on her connection to the world and scum fritz to truly be at peace.

If you reread the final arc & pay attention to everything Eren said and did in the flashbacks it makes more sense.

Like someone itt a few pages back said maybe the reason why there was a strong affinity between Eren and Historia, aside from coming up via the scouts, was because Eren inherited the Founder from Frieda via Grisha. All those feelings of Frieda caring for her sister went right on down to him. If anything, THEY probably had more of a brother-sister relationship than Eren and Mikasa did.
