Need Discovery to stay a float.
I made music for a series on there and I need them royalties checks to stay coming in, and also with more money on them.

  • its amazing that either of these 3 taking ownership would be absolutely disastrous in new and exciting ways

    Lol

    Apple tho

The fact that the industry hates consolidation, but wall street keeps pushing for it is ridiculous. Better off getting Amazon or Apple to get them, if not, then Comcast to get WBD.

If any traditional old studios get it, it should Comcast so that they can use WB properties in the parks

That’s really all I care about from this potential bs

TBH, Comcast makes the most sense when it comes to traditional studios because anything that's WB is what they'll only care about. I could see them split up Discovery, Turner Sports and CNN away from WB and let them be their own thing.

However, in return HBO Max dies, industry consolidation and Peacock/Universal+/Sky increase in price in return

I could totally see a scenario where WBD splits like they’ve been planning and Comcast buys the studio and streaming assets

I think WB would be kept as a label similar to how Fox is under Disney. Peacock would sunset and HBO Max would be the streamer. DC would keep going as is.

At the theme park level, they could finally remove Marvel Superhero Island from Islands of Adventure and either replace it with a DC Superhero Island OR build a DC portal at Epic Universe. WB already has a vested interest at those parks anyway with the Harry Potter lands so that would just expand that footprint. Also this would allow Disney to finally build a real Marvel land at Disney World.

I agree on them having WB and New Line Cinema as main units like 20th Century is to Disney, however, I don't see Comcast sunsetting Peacock considering how intertwined it is to Sky as that's a logistic nightmare.

They'll more likely transfer all things WB and make a PPV format in Peacock than switch to HBO Max, sub numbers be damned.

Also iirc, current day HBO Max is built off of discovery+ infrastructure, so it's different from the old HBO Max.

WB had awful press less than 5 years ago and has only recently gotten back a lot of their mojo, but yeah, let's sell it to Netflix right as it's having hits in theaters.
