Depends what we count as Netflix originals. Do they get to use the movies they buy from festivals?

Idk that’s kinda an unfair handicap

let’s stick with the s*** 100% developed by them like J Lo in a huge transformers bot suit punching and shooting aliens vs star lord and fletcher shooting aliens lmao

Can anyone even name a streaming-only movie that achieved any kind of significant cultural relevance? I’m struggling to think of even one

WB doesn’t need to be bought. The only reason they’re “for sale” is because Paramount forced a bid

oh my god i just thought about something

i think apple or amazon might try and buy nbc universal if this goes through

it's effectively now smaller than disney + netflix/wb and apple/amazon want to reach that level

comcast not giving that up. that's a huge part of their portfolio

  • Dec 5, 2025

Like under zaslav it was doomed and is still doomed

na paramount didn't bid on them
after the discovery merger they've been in debt.
that's why zaslav was cutting s*** when he got in and they still underwater

btw hbo max if it stays an independent streaming will most likely cost less ideally since it would be loosing discovery content and s*** from tbs and tnt

They were going to sell after the split, but in parts instead

Whole WBD era with Zaslav in charge has been able crafting an attractive company to sell and get a payday on. I agree they don't "need" to be bought, but that's been their intention for years

Paramount rushed to start the process early because they wanted the studio parts and network parts like CNN, but flopped
