Does this mean Netflix also owns Warner music?

Actually, no! WMG and UMG are separate entities from their studio counterparts. They just share names and branding as they are both spinoffs from the larger studios.

people who use Netflix don't want good TV

they want something they can play in the background while they scroll

Feels like at least half the people I see at theaters want the same thing tbh 😒 just with an embarrassing novelty popcorn bucket beside them

    Huh?

I’m saying there’s plans for ads at the lowest tier that can still make it affordable for people to subscribe to their service if they don’t want to pay more. It’s not my problem in the sense of if I want a higher tier plan, I can.

It’s not about being affordable. It’s about these companies thinking we’re stupid by offering versions of these apps with ads.

The draw of streaming services used to be that there were NO ads, and it was $10 a month to watch whatever you want.

Why would I now pay that price to get ads? Literal waste of money

Is it really that much effort to see a trailer for a movie you like and go to one or two a year ?

No. But there is a market for people that would rather watch it at home. When people want to really see a movie, they’ll actually go inside a theater to watch it. You can’t force people to sit in a theater anymore when there’s options

I would say like 15% of their total output is GOOD

The other good things on Netflix rn are library titles they have via licensing

I don’t think theatres die completely but they all will definitely pivot to a “restaurant/bar + a show” type establishments just to get people to show up

there should be a few people who make decisions that love things besides money

    and that's not happening

This morning I was driving to work, but was on my phone flipping through my Spotify unwrapped (I know, not good). I see a car behind me, on my ass. Pretty, pale looking woman, giving off Julianna skiff vibes. She passes me and flicks me off with her milky white, slender finger.
Is it wrong if I was turned on?

IMAX should make a commitment to build more theaters. I think if anything that could extend the lifeline for theatrical a bit

PLFs might be the only way theaters survive atp
