We have a new normal, but movie theater windows are shorter if the movie isn't making money in the theater and longer if they are making money in the theater.

I'm pretty sure all of them got limited theatrical releases like most "oscar" movies do too. Roma, The Irishman, Marriage Story... all had theatrical releases.

If that was under Netflix's control it would've peaked at somewhere around 600 and that's being generous. No telling what they'll do in a decade after having been allowed to erode the theater industry for a significant period of time

I can see the downside for those types of releases, but I thought that before this deal. It's just weird seeing people think Netflix isn't trying to have a Batman movie make bank in theaters just because they are a streaming service.

You don't have to take my word for it, Netflix's CEO has commented on how he feels about movie theaters multiple times and it's publicly available information

Netflix business model is bad for movie theaters in general. I'm just saying..I don't think Netflix is going to leave millions of dollars on the table so a movie like Batman can debut on a streaming service or not have a significant theatrical release.
