I’m a dork for the ac combat systems so this matters more to me than normal
But not sure how I feel about what they’ve cooked here. It’s clearly a mix of the eventually very stylish and cool looking ‘parry for a goated kill animation’ style from pre origins
And the simplified light/heavy attack shoulder buttons action RGP style from post origins
Which I think is a really clever direction and one that I think the series needed. But the actual execution looks a bit clunky. The yellow/orange shockwaves that come up as you parry looks a bit lame and introducing that extra step of you having to then press execute feels like a pointless middle step.
I’m almost certain it’ll be a way more in depth and weighty combat system than original black flag, but not sure if they’ve perfected the blend of old and new ac combat
I have always wanted to play black flag should I just pick up the original or wait for this I’m willing to pay like $5 for original $10 for this lol
I just saw a side by side graphics comparison the original still holds up

Fair & remakes tend to discount fast
I do find it interesting this is the one the are remaking will be interesting to see how it turns out
It’s wild games are being turned around to remake so quick
Been playing them in order over time, about to start Rogue sometime this week.
Last ones I played were 3 (great combat) and Liberation (boring) in 2024

May as well wait. It’s only a little over 2 months away
S*** man… they finally figured out AC combat after all these years. AC4R has the perfect mix of new and old
Lately I'm thinking about replaying Ezio trilogy because I got nostalgic but I'm not sure how the games are holding up 1.5 decades later. Maybe I should wait for the remakes
Woodkid is involved with the new sea shanties
That Revelations trailer with Iron playing one of my favorite trailers ever

Same. i was always a fan of being able to parry 50 mfs with just the hidden blade

Going the capcom route getting easy goodwill by making quality remakes of all the OG’s after starting with a fan favorite
Can’t wait for AC2 remake

Honestly I agree but black flag seems to have quietly become the biggest AC?
Ezio’s trilogy is way more impactful but whatever. Honestly even more than 2 imagine a brotherhood remake

That Brotherhood remake will be like crack in my veins

I still remember 14 year old me opening the map for the first time and just being blown away by how much there was to do. Loved that game, I think it's way better than 2
