Since AC2 it always felt to me like they were building towards a completely modern era game with Desmond as the assassin
Once they realized people didn’t want that the modern day writing just got worse and worse
I wanted that tbh, I loved the few times you got to modern day assassin s*** or run around as Desmond
Def seemed like we’d get a more fleshed out part of that stuff andddd no lmao
Ubisoft, like Rockstar has always made some of the prettiest water ever since ps3/4 era to now.
I never played the original but I'm definitely interested in trying this. I know most of y'all are happy with no rpg mechanics but that's one of the things that made me fall in love with origins. I couldn't get into the series before that with the clunky combat and whatnot either. I definitely tried. The whole revamp of the series that started with origins got me for that one and about 30% of odyssey. Stopped playing that when if I remember right before I could progress in the story it forces you to level up like crazy or something. Don't remember exactly but it turned me off lol

It's definitely a split camp between folks who love that classic formula but can't get jiggy with the new stuff at all, and those who legit love that newer RPG flavor. Whichever case may be, the writing was much stronger earlier on. It's too bad the discourse of the latest assassins creed got dominated by goofballs who would still b**** about diversity if the main character was a white dude with vitiligo, but the worst thing AC Shadows has going for is actually the writing.
is there anything new or just graphical upgrade
Funniest part is the way resynced looks is how AC4 looked to me originally the first time I booted it up on my ps4
Crazy how graphics age lmao
man imagine how insane graphically a 1 or 2 remake would look
If this does well I can see a 1 or 2 remake eventually
Would be cool if they fixed and finished Unity tho. Or made another game inspired by it

Think they are adding some new content and fleshing out smaller parts of the story

Combat system revamped, smoother parkour and stealth, no insta failure on evesdropping missions if caught
looks really good. i have a lot of good memories playing the original, i'll probably pick it up on sale at some point
