I still wouldn’t say it’s the opposite though. I think fat women are shown less grace in the real world, and if they are given opportunities, they’re different (and more rare) than fat men; for example modeling gigs like you mentioned.

But even then, when they’re modeling, the entire point of them being on the runway is cause they’re fat, it’s like they can’t escape that label.

But yeah, when it comes to dating I do see that fat women have way more luck than fat men for sure, you’re right.

Think thats tied to the fact some fat women make it a almost an identity like the body positivity movement and fat men are really quieter then fat women like you don't see fat men complain about Calvin Klein models but Victoria Secret faced huge backlash from women over no big girls in it.

A lot of Fat women define themselves as fat women and that causes an image thing for all fat women whereas fat men just be like "yea I'm fat" and don't really make a fuss.

Marginalized groups are taught to feel shame for existing, so when they say f*** that, they lean super hard into pride as they should

I just think the reason we don’t see fat dudes do the same is because there isn’t as much hate out there in the world for em

Whites are pro-white because they have deluded themselves into believing they’re marginalized because people say mean things about them on social media

Even for them, despite it not being true, it goes back to them feeling like they are oppressed so they compensate with pride/xenophobia

No its because they want to protect the interests of their group like all people do. Maintaining oppression in America is in their interest. Europeans claimed to be superior since the middle ages it didnt just start with social media or in the modern times

not sure if it could ever truly be the opposite because women's evolutionary demand profile in a partner has always been a lot more multidimensional than men's because consequences of motherhood could be devastating if you picked a bad partner, it's not just conditioning, if a woman wants to "play the game" her "market value" is closely tied to her appearance, it's how the mating market functions as sad as it is but life isn't fair and most social dynamics are brutal af

media pandering toward obese women is less about social progress and more a capitalist strategy imo, in a world where half the population is overweight and at risk of diabetes opening up this market segment makes economic sense... obesity rates have skyrocketed over the past few decades, the market had no choice but to recalibrate

I see the white people who say they are pro-white in order to prevent their “great replacement” and combat “reverse racism” as falling under “protecting their interests” too

But even then if u disagree with that, I just think there could be more than one reason for people to seek pride. Black power is a direct response to our oppression and a call for racial dignity when the world demonizes our cultures/who we are. Not just that, but another reason would be because we’re awesome and should love who we are and be prideful of that, so we are. Same with queer people, etc

With fat people it’s clearly different in that there’s not really a “fat culture” to be prideful of, that’s why I’m saying for them it all goes back to them being made to feel they shouldn’t exist, and oftentimes when that is drilled into your psyche long enough, the only other option is kys or embrace yourself, which is what they do.

Thats not me saying only marginalized people have pride lol, just that pride is usually their last resort

I believe pride is central to the human psyche. But pride has to be based in real world positive traits or else its not pride. Its more like vapid delusion. Pretending that there is anything to be proud of in being fat is vapid delusion not pride

Pretty much, the constantly shifting and volatile algorithms of the modern social media/digital landscape have done some near irreparable damage on the mental health and self-esteem/self-image states of people (be it men, women, and everyone in between alike)
