I found it interesting there seemed to be very little integration with the companies most ubiquitous product.
Its a gen one product so improvements/changes are definitely on the way but I would have expected to see something along the lines of expanding your display for your iphone screen as well as your mac.
I wonder if the thinking is to first emphasize vision pro as a standalone product and then enhance peripheral function with the iphone, or if there was a technological hurdle in integration at this juncture. Prolly a little of both.

They did the screen expanding for the MacBook
They did the screen expanding for the MacBook
I know I’m saying I’m surprised to not see both
Man I don’t know how some people aren’t absolutely geeked about this
The technology in this thing is absolutely mind boggling
This s*** seems like a headset from the future
The price will probably be a barrier for most as of now but just the fact that all of that stuff is possible and so seamlessly integrated into apple’s existing ecosystem is really exciting
One of the things I’m most hyped about is just the displays in each eye 23 million pixel micro oleds, for every pixel on your iPhone there are 64 more on the Apple Vision Pro displays holy moly that’s utter insanity
Also seeing shorty play 2k in Apple Arcade with the duel sense was kinda cool, if it supports ps remote play tho I’d be sooooo innnnn wtf
I’m not the biggest fan of actual VR gaming in its current state. Gameplay for VR is still stiff cumbersome and exhausting imo also it’s still graphically dated outside of PSVR2
I’d much rather sit on my ass with a controller I’m familiar with and use the AR capabilities of the apple vision pro to project an oled display in front of me wherever the f*** I’m at lol, that would be greatness
I know I’m saying I’m surprised to not see both
Ohhh yea idk…
I guess maybe the thought is that this thing basically runs all the same apps as the iPhone, so what’s really the point?
Like on the MacBook they showed video editing which is cool, but what iPhone software or feature isn’t already available on the Vision Pro?

Thats a good point although I don’t necessarily think saying it runs all the same apps as the iphone is true at this point outside of the core ios ones.
But yeah them seeing vispro increasing productivity for a workstation vs just like wow now I can scroll instagram but BIG seems on target.
Been seeing a lot of VR memes on the timeline this morning. Here’s my take on VR practical uses:
P*** - yes
Video games - yes
Movies/TV - maybe but the functionality better be really good to be better than watching on a big screen TV. This is a tough sell.
Everything else - I don’t know why I would put goggles on my face for general phone/text/FaceTime/web browsing/social media. Generally, wearing goggles is hugely discomfortable compared to having a phone in your pocket. Especially if you’re in a hot climate or hot room. No one will want to do this for general computer s***.
P*** - Nobody pays for it. More decentralized and giggified than ever
Video games - Plenty of VR rigs collecting dust already. Apple has like no pull with gamers
Movies/TV - people want to look at their phones
I keep hearing different things, is there a beta available for iOS 17?
yes
Just realized the significance of “Pro” within the name
That is a subtle way for apple to insinuate that, like most of its devices there will be different versions of this thing
Apple Vision, Apple Vision Pro, a lighter version like an Apple Vision Air, a more powerful version maybe like an Apple Vision Pro Max, maybe a smaller less functional version that focuses strictly on ar and not vr closer to the size of glasses marketed as Apple Vision Mini
The possibilities are endless
Also concerning the price yeah it’s 3500 but the Mac Pro and spec’d out MacBook pros are 3500
I’m almost sure there will be lower priced editions, maybe something at the $2000 price point, maybe even lower
I’m digging this iOS 17 so far I have noticed some odd things but nothing crazy so far
Does anybody know exactly what stand was used when they showed the iPhone on its side as an alarm clock?
I really don’t get the hype, the WWDC event wasn’t anything special
And why are they jumping into the VR space? VR took off in 2017(?) and crash landed shortly after. What’s the point?
My only exciting takeaway from this is Apple Maps offline which I really need for travel.

This is what I'm talking about. I typed in SoCal and it downloaded the entire map.

how’s the performance? Smoother than 16?
They’re going to combine the tracking and mapping software with an evolved form of a flesh light that’s basically like a crash dummy that the VR can project features onto.
the future of p*** is gonna be where you can f*** a rig wearing features of the p***star. It’s about to get real weird out here.
whatever headset i get my hands on in the next five years...
this will be the first thing i play on it

As usual, Apple continues to (mostly) nail it on the software fronts, but plateaus when it comes to hardware in their typical product line.
The Vision Pro is something that still screams "way too early" for a company like Apple to present and put so much money into. I'm sure it will be great for very niche (and well-off) consumer markets, particularly in limited parts of various business/trade fields. And it will surely get some buzz over the next few years.
But in general, it still seems too conceptual to become a mass market, normalized product. The headset is pretty much the total opposite in terms of target users, user interaction, and user intent, compared to literally every other product sold by Apple currently. It honestly feels like a project that Jobs would put in the shred bin if he were still alive.

You’re an idiot man. If anything Apple should be going into more product categories
For example healthcare and mobility

That's not what Im saying
And Apple has been in the healthcare space for years with integrated features and specific application support on multiple products.
