Been seeing a lot of VR memes on the timeline this morning. Here’s my take on VR practical uses:

P*** - yes

Video games - yes

Movies/TV - maybe but the functionality better be really good to be better than watching on a big screen TV. This is a tough sell.

Everything else - I don’t know why I would put goggles on my face for general phone/text/FaceTime/web browsing/social media. Generally, wearing goggles is hugely discomfortable compared to having a phone in your pocket. Especially if you’re in a hot climate or hot room. No one will want to do this for general computer s***.

Probably gonna wait for 2nd gen

Well besides my dumb slappable concern, there's a reason why almost all VR headsets are made with plastic

The front glass doubles as a number of lenses and a screen, so in Apple's eyes it needs to be glass for clarity. You don't want that to be some plastic that's going to get all scuffed up. Also want the aluminum (a very light metal) for more durability and a premium feel. Aluminum & glass are Apple's design MO, it's not like it's steel and iron on your head

to me it's just a matter of whether it's worth it to wear heavy goggles for 2.5 hours versus the comfort of not wearing goggles and watching a big HDTV. for things like video games or p*** it's worth it. for just watching a movie, idk.

but it would be dope on an airplane or train for sure.
