mining software is optimized for GPUs and ASICs
they'll probably make money but it wouldn't make sense vs buying used mining stuff on eBay

The intel 16 inch is still a very powerful laptop lol don't get overtaken by the hype. The new one has amazing battery life and the cpu's great if you're doing some serious ML applications or large scale logic projects but besides that the intel 16 inch is still great. The new one is also thicker and heavier ( albeit only by a little)

vaylathat Apple event confirmed to me that the new Macbook Pro is overkill for what i need.
i instead decided to get the M1 Air with 16 GB RAM instead.
gonna be a huge upgrade from my 2015 Pro
Go to education store or Apple Certified used.
