I was going to list all the pre-DLDT official releases too but I figured it's just not worth it. There's a narrative being painted and regardless of the facts it will continue to be framed however people see fit. Drake is feeding us like he always has, except through his plottttwistttttt ig account and not at midnight on Fridays via Spotify or Apple. The amount is par for the course and it's not a problem. The fact that these aren't behind a paywall is the impressive part but he won't get his flowers for that because it doesn't make him look spiraling or desperate enough for his critics. He's supposed to be scrambling with us in disarray but here we are with a fresh EP to enjoy

But thank you for setting the record straight, the DLDT rollout isn't appreciated enough. We'll never have that many loosies and leaks in rapid succession like that again

Fader said Drake is his 3rd favorite rapper and he doesn't even know what packs dropped or when they dropped. It's pointless to quote him because he's either ignorant on Drake's entire discography or here to critique in bad faith. Think about it, Drake's dropping gold nuggets on Tuesday nights, who in their right mind is even questioning a decision like that. Let the artist paint and do not disturb the process until the piece is complete

Well, to be fair, that EP didn't have any promo (outside of him dropping it along with a music video for What's Next and pushing that particular song as a single). It did the numbers it did because earlier in the year, Drake had delayed CLB and fans were desperately anticipating new music from him.

People desperately want to push narratives that Kendrick has destroyed Drake's public standing and that's why none of his songs post-beef are "sticking" on the charts but that's inaccurate. 2024 was meant to be Drake's "off year". He typically has one every 5 years (see 2014, 2019) and in those years, he usually sticks to dropping very little new music and then gears up to start another 5-year run the following year. The beef cancelled those plans. He was already showing signs of fatigue from listenership with For All the Dogs and that's understandable because his output so far this decade has been insane:
2020: Dark Lane Demo Tapes, LNCL & 11 features
2021: SH2, CLB & 8 features
2022: Honestly, Nevermind, Her Loss & 6 features
2023: For All the Dogs, SH3 & 6 features
2024: 4 diss tracks and multiple features/loosies

There's nobody who is gonna drop that much music and not risk overexposure. That's where he is right now.

I don't mind the new music but I don't expect them to do anything because people have simply had their fill of Drake for the decade. It also doesn't help that he's actively sabotaging the releases of these 3-pack drops. Basically, don't expect any real momentum for any new Drake music till he drops his next project.
