Solo Leveling needs a good anime adaption omg. Current arc so good.

That s*** would easily do numbers with a good anime adaption

the parallel worlds would make character arcs insignificant since it's all tangible...like hanging from a thread. Rika is a personal fav of mine so I would like to see more of her so I feel you on that.(although neiru did get closure). The only one not getting closure I can complain about is momo. Now as far as acca and ura-acca go I think expading more on the themes they introduced would make the show less organic and more sci-fi.

Charlie's goal was making friends, finding someone to connect with, falling in love and other things that all happened....but we didnt see the evolution of the relationships he had by the end of Perks....we just saw him being happy and letting go....that's what i think the meaning of wep is....''never give up cause the you in your future will be grateful for your resolve of pushing through hardships''

I agree that the parallel worlds make character arcs insignificant, which is why I think it shouldn't have introduced a backstory at all. And if the anime wants to be metaphorical and leave things to our imagination, it can't have it both ways and also explain the lore and rules in depth, that makes me ask questions.

Also Neiru didn't get closure. We don't know what happened to her after she saved her sister. We know that she joined the villain but we don't get to hear directly how she feels and what her motivations are. It's hinted that she wants to become more human but we don't know if that happened. A lot of loose ends.

I might be confusing the book and movie but I remember it ended with Sam and Patrick leaving and saying goodbye to Charlie, and the tunnel scene being a last callback to what their friendship was like. We don't know what happens to any of them later but it doesn't feel like we need to know it to understand the story.

I had been religiously browsing Yahoo Auctions Japan every day in hopes of finding a promotional poster for my favourite show of all time. I didn't have much hope because it's kinda "old", but I got lucky one day so here we are. Impossible to find Japanese B2-sized frames in Canada so I had to make this one custom made which ended up being 100$ but it was worth it.

Just saw the WEP special. Idk I have mixed feelings about it but I def didn’t despise it. The series is still worth experiencing tbh, even if the conclusion doesn’t tie everything together.

there's a few things I've grown to dislike in anime/manga and these are...

    • the sexism behind fanservice (not to mention the damsel in distress trope in almost every shounen)
    • the homophobic jokes in sol/rom coms that rely on the fact that ''most'' anime watchers have some sort of insecure masculinity
    • putting kids in scenarios where they dont belong and having them react as adults (stuf like made in abyss for example or higurashi)
    • the lack of enough ONAs in development in each season that would in return give the staff of each studio more creative control and less deadline overworking
    • abusing a source material to the point where it gets butchered and loses coherence or being so faithful to it and having fear of being creative to the point where it feels like watching a motion comic

One thing about Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway that really stuck out to me, is how they showed a fight between big ass mechas over a city can affect people on the streets. S*** gave me a visceral feeling while watching it.

This s*** super trash lmao. I read the manga and it's boring cause they try to keep it "clean" while trying to make it taboo, when it's really not any different from any harem already.

Anime culture weird and kinda pedo 😩

my local library has a good manga collection, I picked up 'I Am A Hero' omnibus vol 1, it's very intriguing but I don't know if it's something i'll continue, has anybody else read the series?

Also picked up Eden - It's An Endless World, this s*** is apparently really rare but my library has like multiple volumes of it
the books smell terrible tho lol, clearly very old.

Check y'all local libraries man, they might have some gems!! and you can read them joints physically (which I prefer), take em back and give other people a chance to enjoy it!

Agree with the kids thing with the exception of The Promised Neverland
