My scores for the season
Jujustsu Kaisen - 9/10
Attack On Titan S4 - 9/10
Horimiya - 8/10
Dr. Stone S2 - 6/10
TPN S2 - I dropped it and I would've given it a 3 seeing how it all went down
Will post my opinions on Wonder Egg when I finally watch it
4-5 is fine for me
My main priorities in anime are characters and theme so that's one of the big reasons why I don't have AOT4 that high. Like you said, it's mostly plot-focused and I really don't care about plot at all.
Horimiya characters weren't bad, but they weren't really that compelling. Like, I can't really describe anything about any of the characters as people other than their one main shtick in the story. They're just kinda there and they pale in comparison to characters in some other stuff like White Album 2 or NANA.
White album 2
my winter rankings
AOT S4: 9/10 (honestly just outside of some eps feeling like straight up exposition dumps, this is pretty much what the peak of anime looks like. Exceptional worldbuilding, storytelling, and it even fixes what I had always felt was the weakest aspect of AOT: its characters. Reiner and Eren are all time anime characters with how well they have been developed. Very excited to see it end)
Mushoku Tensei: 7.5/10 (its problematic but I also don't think the show has glorified its protagonist at all, if anything it has shown how he is not actually special and has many flaws outside of his f***ed up perversions. Exceptional worldbuilding so far as well and I like the narrative approach, but it still feels a bit like a generic isekai even if its considered the anime that birthed a lot of the tropes.)
Wonder Egg Priority: 7/10
Re:Zero S2 Part 2: 6/10
HoriMiya: 5/10 (wholesome and fun to see but its so bland and forgettable in the grand scheme of things)
TPN S2: 0/10 (yeah this was an abomination)
Exposition dumps is exactly what I hated about season 3 and people said I was being salty!!!
There were like 2 boring episodes about the royal family where this dude was just mansplaining everything to the audience
Season 4 I didn't mind especially because it was interesting / important to the plot
horimiya had a spark when it started and now its just...not quite garbage but definitely didnt live up to the potential i saw in it during its early run. i thought i had its score pinned down by the first half but it just kept dropping as the show kept pumping out boring half baked characters / sideplots
during episode 12 when they tried to give each character a bit of shine i spent half of it going like "who?

Hate to agree with this because I was a big Horimiya enthusiast from episode 1
I still think it's one of the best romances I've seen

I actually ranked the old Fruits Basket. I never watched the new one but it looks good. The old one was so cozy and warm tho!
As for Golden Time, the plot is so stupid and I think the main couple are both annoying people. Might raise it to 5/10 for being funny sometimes, but the Ghost Banri s*** really pissed me off
Do you like Fullmetal Alchemist? I'm asking because it's clearly plot focused, but imo all the characters are great.
I dropped it back in like 2015 after a couple episodes. I've been planning on giving it another try though since there are a lot of people I know with the same amount of anime "experience" and taste as me who really like it. FMA:B seems to be well liked by everyone, whether its someone with 10 completed anime or by someone with 750 completed anime, so I think its worthwhile for me to give it another shot after 5 years.

It's one of my favorites, I hope you'll at least think it's good
I think it's worth the journey
damn how come no ratings for tomozaki

for you and anyone that really liked the introductory premise of horimiya, i would highly recommend checking out kare kano - it takes that same premise of main leads discovering each others' secret personal lives and fully explores / fleshes it out in hideaki anno style. its plagued by production issues which led to its ending going off the rails but it peaks higher than almost any romance anime ive seen

This, this so f***ing much. In general all cloverworks shows this season had glaring issues which is a shame, after tpn being hot garbage i had faith in horimiya and wep but they f***ed them up too (well wep was good but still)

Is Bunny Girl Senpai really a romance though?
Like obviously there are romantic elements in it with Sakuta and Mai's romance, but I always saw it as a slice of life/drama that addressed several social issues in Japanese culture.
damn how come no ratings for tomozaki
people be SLEEPING bro.
they aint watch it cuz it didnt look schnice but soon everyone will understand.

Good point, for some reason I see it as a romance

I can get it, sort of. They do use it as a plot point and it's a pretty important part for most of the show, just goes to show how different people can perceive shows differently, even going down to the genre.
I kinda get your rating, too. I feel like Bunny Girl Senpai is a show that is super difficult to like or even understand completely without the complete cultural context, and subtitles just don't convey it very well (IMO). Super tough to market to western audiences.
damn bro, just read that WEPs animation producer was hospitalised twice during the shows production, thats f***ed upโ

I'll give it the benefit of the doubt that maybe I'm lost in translation
The reason I don't like it is mostly because of the main character, and also because it's psuedo intelligent and not as smart and meta as it thinks it is
It's pretentious af but also pandering for otakus with a self insert harem fantasy
How we feeling about Shaman King so far?

anime production industry sounds one of the least fun jobs on the planet
