also just recently found out the age of consent in Japan is like 13 years old which explains a lot of the perv/pedo s*** in high school anime’s smh
Yea. I also be forgetting pretty often that the main target demographics for a lot of the series I watch are 12-18, so some of the s*** I see as pedo and weird will be normal to the main demographic.
Might be a tired discussion but do you guys care that the majority of anime is based around teenagers and/or high school? I don’t think it’s a problem tbh. I’ve seen people complain about it before, but it never really bothered me, mostly because if I still watch a lot of adult live action.
Doesn't matter at all. A well written story is a well written story regardless of the age of the characters. Plus, there are plenty of shows with primarily adult characters so it's not like people should be struggling to find them.
That said, I don't think it's unreasonable that people want older characters whose life reflects more closely to their own or older characters because it opens up different topics that can be tackled. People only start to sound stupid when they believe that shows with adult cast are inherently more "mature" than shows with a teenage cast.

that makes sense too but also let’s not forget behind every anime is a grown ass man who thought it would be a good idea to draw a character who looks 8 years old w big ass titties n s***

I’m struggling to find any decent college anime’s put me on
(and hopefully it won’t be the same like 5-8 shows that get recc cause I’ve prolly seen them already then)

Ima be honest chief, I'm not interested in trying to help when you're looking for such a specific age range. I think if you just expand your criteria to an adult cast you'll have a bunch more options to choose from.
the Pervy s*** in rom com anime’s dont really bother me that much but it’s the token pedo fanservice female character that’s in most these tomcom anime’s that kinda make me uncomfortable

aight then put me onto some adult comedy/rom com/slice of life type s***

run with the wind
grand blue
honey and clover
these all look kinda fire Gonna add to my list
(Ayo but have you actually watched honey clover? Is that s*** worth finishing? I’m like 6 eps deep and this s*** getting more boring every episode. Also why does the Main female character have to be 18 but looks and acts like a 9 year old?)

I love college anime like grand blue, rent a gf, Golden time but I also fw high school setting. As long as the show is good I’ll watch it although I do feel like I can connect more with college/adult characters.

Come on man. Any reasonable anime database (e.g., AniList, MyAnimeList) should have filters that you can use to find what you're looking for: it's not even some obscure, specific request.

you really think I don’t do that already?
you’re the one saying it’s so easy to find good adult anime’s so I just assumed you would know a couple good ones you’ve watched already that you could recc off top

Neko for Mangadex is quite good but the load time is never consistent even on Tachiyomi. Still I like using to browse titles
I watch TPN but have seen a lot of hate bc of manga
Apparently there’s a huge arc they missed on anime
Think they’re going to make that arc a movie?
do read more vagabond or try to watch 8 episodes of higurashi
Wtf saw the new episode s*** was bonkers might be the best one of the season. That song at the end
Just give me the future with Rem
Best one of the season for sure. Felt like everything was building up to that they did a really good job pacing wise too. Rip the bowel cutter she was a savage
anime*
The lack of music in Evangelion really helps set the tone. This s*** is moody as hell. So many lonely, broken characters in this one.

rewatch or first watch?
rewatch or first watch?
First watch. I'm not that big on re-watching stuff.
Is there any other anime that deals with the concept of depression like NGE does?

welcome to the nhk is also a really good psychologically driven anime that i watched recently, all sorts of f***ed up characters in that one in a more mundane and relatable setting

Try taking a look at Welcome to the NHK. It deals with heavy themes like depression and being a shut in from society but is still filled a with a lot of fun and humorous moments. It’s a really good show that you can take away from, even if you haven’t experienced the things the characters go through.
