Aot manga punpun uzumaki
truly bad manga endings are bleach because they gutted kubo and 20th century boys becauss it was mad anticlimatic and fell flat
You might like the aot ending idk but for me personally it was just stupid as s***, im not really that harsh on endings but sometimes they just all start to feel the same at some point
I wouldnt say punpun ending or uzumaki ending are boring, but on a broader sense i can feel what you're saying. Battle shonen, romcoms, harems, s*** like that will have similar endings, but that's more because they mostly follow the same structure, so naturally with similarly progressing stories, they will have similar endings. And also, in manga i feel the importance of the ending to me isnt as prominent as in movies for example, because serialized comics run for years and years, and 1 chapter out of hundreds is nothing in the grand scheme of things. This is a double edged sword though: if a series is very hyped and been serializing for a long time, expectations will be through the roof and hard to satisfy, so at that point nothing is really satisfying. But i'd blame that more on hype culture and this hyper fixation on endings. For example, berserk will never get an ending but that doesnt erase the 360 chapters released. 20th century boys had a imo bad ending but the 300+ chapters before were still amazing.
U cant have any opinion on any of this s*** without someone telling you youre wrong thats aight tho i get it
you get used to it
or you just talk about s*** nobody else knows about so nobody can call you out

The ending is the most important part of a media, Evangelion got a slow starting and I fell asleep to the early episodes but got one of the best finales I ever watched.
GOT was the opposite, guess who got the worse reputation.

Got didnt fall off in the last episode tho, it was the entire last season thar went against everything that came before it, if maybe even the last 2 seasons. If you think eva is good only because of end of eva then good for you but you dont really like it that much honestly lol. Also the evangelion anime ending is still polarizing to this day yet its a classic. 20 cb which i mentioned in the post is still considered a classic despite the ending being mid and the 21st century boys volumes not doing anything to solve the issues the ending had. For serialized manga to me its confusing, especially for series you've been following for years if not decades. If one mid/bad chapter makes you re-evaluate all the chapters before it than you werent really a fan imo

tbh i reread bleach recently and it wasn't actually that bad i think, wasn't great but i didnt think it was that bad

Generally, if you need to wait for the ending of a show to get you to go from not liking it to liking it, then it means you just dont like the show at all and youre just lying to yourself to justify the time you wasted on the show imo.
The last 10% of an anime being terrible doesnt change the fact that the first 90% were great. Likewise, the last 10% of an anime being great doesnt change the fact that the first 90% was terrible.
Hell, i'd even go as far as to say that the ending is the most irrelevant part of a show and that if I magically forgot the final 1 or 2 episodes of every anime ive watched not a single one of my scores for them would change.

I think it depends on the length of the show. Short shows really need to nail the ending to wrap up everything nicely. If you have a 12 episode show and the last 2 or 3 episodes feel rushed, slapped together. leave you with a bunch of plot holes and a bad ending then it really hurts the overall show as a complete package.
But if you're gonna dedicate 50 or 100+ episodes worth of your time to something then yeah the ending (as long as it isn't complete dogshit) shouldn't be the decider of if the show is good or not. If you've committed that much time to something then you've obviously found something special in it that kept you watching for that long.

yeah this will still not prevent me from hating on ATTACK ON MID
yeah this will still not prevent me from hating on ATTACK ON MID
i had this in mind when reading tranq's post lmfao
not that i hate aot entirely but that ending just f***s with the story so much
sun ken rocks another manga that has a horrendous ass ending guaranted most of its story was fighting & b**** every 3 seconds but it was still entertaining to me up until that ending
I'm watching shigurui and that s*** is seriously f***ed up yet addictive
legit feels like 97 berserk
that post credits scene of dress up darling
gave in and picked up the manga (chapter 39 for anyone interested)
Thinking of watching some of the upcoming shows weekly next season
yeah this will still not prevent me from hating on ATTACK ON MID
That's fine
But anyone saying it's mid just solely on the ending is a certified lame when everyone was making the soy face for every season and manga chapter

That's a reach. Every part of the story is equally important lol. But I do agree it's easier to forget a mid beginning vs a mid ending due to recency bias.

yea thats a story that really needed a strong ending since the entire last act is just sooo much f***ing buildup to that dogshit
Real ones thought aot was mid since s1
s*** starts sooo boring i will not deny that im surprised i even finished reading it
ya like i dont really get too tight about folks opinions about shows anymore (esp not on here) unless folks are s***ting on someone else for enjoying a show (provided the show is not problematic like mushoku tensei)
I used to care before about ppl liking SAO. Now I get it it can just be fun if you don't care about the plot.
It's a little problematic it has a tentacle rape scene and children watch it but it's mild for an anime I guess
