death note ending is overhated and L is a b**** imo

the sun shines for all people....some get burned by it while others find comfort in its warmth

but yes, this anime was trying to relay a feeling of despair I'm not a fan of.

also, Good will never lose....the stats are just rigged

L was just a good detective, his quirky attitude was wack af...like why the f*** did the writer feel the need a smart detective had to behave like a child?

well i wouldn’t say he ever behaved like a child. he behaved more like an intensely introverted genius, and the quirks like the OCD and the obsession with sweets were presented as eccentric instead of childish imo. some of it was definitely for comic relief, but i never found any of that any more unrealistic than the rest of the s*** going on in the show.

the shinigami were sick tho. they had great designs and plot threads but yeah imo it was a waste to not delve deeper into their world/origins.

facts death note been my fave anime since 5th grade (24 now) and the ending was perfect

I dont like putting labels on ppl but this couldnt be more true

the fact those quirks were never given any substance besides ''they just part of his character'' made him seem less real and more of a problem solving machine than a character

Mob psycho, hxh and fullmetal are my favs out of those. Mob is the shortest hxh is the longest of those i've listed so starting with mob would be a great start without being too overwhelming, it has amazing animation too!

i used to love Death Note when i first saw it (i was like 14) but i’m 24 now, and i tried to rewatch last year and had to stop less than halfway tbh, couldn’t make it through. i was very disappointed.

the writing is not good, the events are pretty predictable, Light is an unlikeable sociopath from the very beginning, etc. stuff i never noticed as a kid, but as an adult i just couldn’t stop cringing.

i don’t have a problem with the ending tho lol imo it ended as it should have. they couldn’t drag L’s arc out anymore so i was happy they introduced new characters.
