Scissor Seven season 3 is f***ing amazing. 26/30.
Animation up went up. Fight scenes a really interesting now. Characters are still great. Plot is moving forward at a good pace. Just only had like one filler episode, but it was funny. New interesting characters.

My Hero Academia S5

Yeah a little late but I finished it. MHA is a big comfort show for me. I've been watching it weekly for the past 5 years and I intend to continue doing it.

But I can't say it's good at least not anymore. It's still pleasant and it's still a cute thing to watch when you just want to chill and not think too much about it. But this season in particular is a lot of fluff and poor writing.

The first half was yet again another class contest that just slowly dragged on until the Deku episode. The second half started with Endevour training the boys, which was less training and more family drama. While the family drama was handled fairly well, instead of what anime usually do they actually have Endevour take accountability, I think they missed a good opportunity to have a training arc. I think Deku, Todokori and Bakugo have an interesting dynamic and we've never seen them as a trio.

Finally we get to My Villain Academia which was pretty good. Initially I thought I didn't like Shigaraki because he felt too generic to be the main villain, but now I guess he's cool. A little disappointed that it wasn't an actual school arc of villains, and I thought the Liberation Army is a boring group, but it's nice to see the League of Villains develop. However this is a short part of this season.

Most of the season is lackluster. We didn't get any big memorable fights. We didn't get crucial character development for any of the main characters, except for one cool Deku episode. The Deku One For All development is the most interesting plot point, they know it and that's why they drag it. The Hawks plot is also interesting and they drag it too.

I'll probably keep watching it but just saying it got worse and I'm not very invested in it anymore. It's just okay. I know it's trying to be the next long shounen, but maybe that's not what the audience is looking for anymore? Or maybe it's missing whatever creativity the classic shounens had?

P.S. They introduce too many new characters instead of developing characters they already have. There are like 50 heroes and villains and they all get mixed up in my head. I know they want to sell toys but I just don't care.

I was gonna check it out but trying to cut down on seasonals. Lmk what you think tho if you end up peeping it

idk what y’all mean, i’ve enjoyed like 5 shows from each of the past 3 seasons. that’s at least 15 seasonals i’ve f***ed with in that time

thats why ive given up hope and expect everything to be s***, that way i can be pleasantly surprised by the few good stuff instead of being disappointed by everything

My Senpai is Annoying's character animation in its first episode was great. Nice return to form for Doga Kobo after some questionable releases this year, glad they could pull together an actual good team for this show. OP of the year as well, really beautiful compositing and character animation, I'll be surprised if whoever was responsible for JJK's 2nd ED wasn't involved with this show's OP
