the backgrounds in texhnolyze do such a great job capturing the mood and setting the stage for the bleak and tragic story. the emptiness, the color palate, the architecture style.. so perfect

the idyllic and eerie art when theyre on the surface drawing direct inspiration from edward hopper paintings is really cool too

and then my favorite thing was seeing the office building on the surface being so clearly modeled after one of the favorite pieces of architecture: frank lloyd wright's SC Johnson headquarters

it may not have been my favorite show ever but i really appreciate the artistic risks they took in the storytelling and dialogue. there are so many periods of multiple minutes passing with no one saying anything. i dont think ive seen a show quite like this before yes even ergo proxy it just feels so unique compared to so much of the stuff being made today

Man, this show's OST is so otherworldly amazing. "The Place Where Wishes Come True" always gets me
