finally went through the trouble of going back through my anilist to individually rate each season of stuff instead of just giving out 1 "franchise" rating
time consuming as hell and i hope i never have to do that again but at least now random one-off seasons that were actually good get a spotlight on my anilist now despite being in a s***ty franchise

Lmaaaoo. This can't be real right? Is this recent? I've seen people who said Laios isn't autistic online and get s***ted on lol
Nah I love this.
F***ing weebs and over estimating their media literacy
OP is clueless making this a western thing it is a gimmick of pretty much any modern mangaka to act absolutely obtuse in interviews.

No that interview was garbage and it is definitely a western thing. You can read Japanese interviews with google translate if you want to. They never ask such embarrassing questions.

Is it? They can't all be in the same joke or is it bad translations?
I've read some decent and earnest mangaka interviews

Aou cant generalize maybe but I remember when the manga ended ryoko kui gave an interview and half of her answers was a "I dunno" "maybe"
Like spoilers for dungeon meshi but

And I noticed that Fujimoto or Gege do that too

All her interviews are like this and its much more of Western thing to politicize an interview. Like this dweeb needs to get a grip

What I can say in general about a lot Mangaka interviews is that if you ask them about ships, politics, or even certain aspects about the story they deliberately didn't show, they will usually not say much. If they wanted to make a ship happen, they would've done so in the Manga. So I always found such questions to be stupid.
But if you ask them about their creation process, their influences and stuff thats actually more about the art, they are talkative.

Well this interview is different because this interviewer is asking in such a fandom Tumblr ass point of view. It's like these characters are real, but not real people. Just like little toys and giving it to the author to answer really unimportant s*** like "is my favorite character going to be happy?"

I also think fandoms and media work are so far divided in different worlds that it's unrecognizable. Like shipping is a big one that creators today are forced to address and look at with their fans.

oh yeah I totally agree with that.
Asking the story about why is "x" or shipping is always dumb. Clearly it was the mangakas deliberate choice not to clarify certain details.
also the entire kana and akane sequence in todays onk (plus melts sequence in the last episode) was great. in particular the match cut of kana running toward ruby and memcho with the optimistic music playing before it cuts back to reality with nothing but silence is probably one of my favourite scenes this year
if onk didnt bother with all the surface level fake-deep commentary on what its like in the entertainment industry (and the whole murder plot thing) and instead just focused on the characters internal struggles, interpersonal relationships and how those fuel their drive and passion on stage, it could be a discount revue starlight

google translate lol
google translate lol
Ay I do that pretty often if I want to read interviews. Now that you can just translate the whole website easily, its pretty easy to read interviews from Mangakas, editors and other people involved in the process
Ok this is actually crazy
7 eps in.. don't know what Roshidere is aiming for, but whatever it is it's not hitting
