some setup would have been nice, but I cannot deny it was entertaining as s***

You know we do that all the time with talking about media on this board right? Part of their critique is that if you love laios then the show is amazing or if you hate him then the show is a chore (which is like obvious lol). Everything else around him is great with the world building, dnd level details for monsters, great art, and a lot of the character interactions. Then the show is amazing to you.

But I simply don't like the guy. Even though I know the back story from spoilers, and the "autism" coding language he's just not fun to watch for me.

The show is good lol. It won't click though for me.

Thats fair but I think masking opinion as critique of a character thats genuinely very layered and super unique (and who definitely cant be only explained by his backstory) is a bit unfair.

But because he is a very special and “different“ character and not a blank board it is definitely more make or break with him. He has alot of characteristics that can be seen as annoying and dislikeable which is either why people love him or dislike him
